I would say they're semi-open baffle but yes, interesting design.

An early version of the SD Acoustics OBS design. I've got a pair of the production models upstairs and they were superb.

I've always had a soft spot for JBLs. I bet they sound awesome when driven by a potent amp.

How much do these potent amps go for?

How much do these potent amps go for? Nothing to do with price, I'm sure you know. I've owned a pair of JBL L-100T in the past and what they need is a power amplifier with low output impedance and high current ability. High damping factor, some call it. It needs a power supply that can provide high sudden demand current and an output circuit that is not susceptible to large back EMF from the speaker.

Sorry. I was being facetious. Couldn't help meself. LOL - no worries. I was matching my answer to the not inexpensive JBLs. You wouldn't want to put a £100 Chinese valve amp on the end of them!

I would never buy those, and do you know why?
£75K and eBay still only give you 300 miserable Nectar points, which are worth a whole £1.50.
Well, that and the fact that they're £75K... and fugly.

Not sure I could bear them even if in black
75k is insane

I use mine on eBay. A lot.

I use mine in Sainsbury's at Christmas for all the "extras" that make Christmas special.
You can check online what your points are worth, or get the supermarket helpdesk to read your card before shopping.

I do much the same as the other lads, although there's not so much "special" stuff to buy for Christmas this year, so I've only used twenty-quids worth. It used to pay for the Christmas booze and "extras," but I don't drink now, and then it paid for Christmas dinner and all the trimmings for mum and I, this year it's paying for a lump of ribeye, and a few other bits and bobs for me.
I've also used some on one of the last few "big" buys on eBay, and I've got about £100.00 worth left now.

Oh dear - just looked on my ebay account and it seems 100 quids worth expired a couple of years ago. That's annoying.
I'll have to find out what my current balance is ...

Thanks Paul, that is helpful - I have a horrible feeling I turned them into cash to buy something on eBay but forgot to use them.
