Hey, yes, it's a Jerry Review! Interesting reading it again after the years have passed by.

I take it you can't convince them that it's a new space heater for winter emergencies then?

What a good idea! Nobody will recognize this tube amplifier as audio equipment. BUT....my listening room also serves as a balloon tennis pitch and ZOOM karate dojo. I'll biden my time...

Regarding the Lenovo smart alarm, the other day I found an Ebay seller offering them for £8.99 inc postage.
I knew in my mind it was probably a scam of some sort, but I went with it and paid by PayPal.
Later in the day I got a message from Ebay to say the sellers account had been deleted, and reminding me how to get a refund if necessary. The item was scheduled to be delivered by Tuesday 26th November so I'll wait and see what happens.

That is one of the positives with eBay and PayPal though; in situations like that the refund process is fairly painless.

Gawd no. They'd stay up all night talking to each other, keeping me awake. Anyway, I've already got one of these on my bedside cabinet. I have got an Echo wall clock in the kitchen, which has a clear-as-day analogue readout (Oh, all right, it's got a black dial and white hands) and works with the Alexa system as a very useful kitchen timer. It's got a visual countdown (blue LEDs on the minute markers) of how many minutes there are remaining, until the final 60 seconds when it counts down the seconds.

Well, I pronounce the letter "H" as "aitch, rather than "haich" and I do try not to drop my aitches, but to be honest (where the "H" is silent, like the "P" in bath) I'm not 100% (One hundred percent, not an 'undred or a nundred p'cent) sure what Hestury Hinglish sarnds like. I should imagine it's rather like the pretentious Ms Priti Patel who tries to sound well-spoken but drops her aitches all over the place and just ends up sounding pretentious. I've just seen Jamie Oliver quoted as an example of an Estuary English speaker. I do not sound like Jamie Oliver, although I'd always put him in the same class as Nigel Kennedy i.e. Mockney.

The boss has clear ideas on what Estuary sounds like. She talks posh Traded down to me, who can slip into West Laandan when excited

Ruth sounds proper posh, my first nickname for her was posh bird. She quite likes that (she even understands the reference to ships).
I also shudder at estuary English and the use of 110% as in effort. No, you moron, you can't ever give more than 100% however impressive you're trying to sound.

The refund process was completely painless and completed less than an hour after my request.

Ho, ho, ho. I wonder if it performs at the level of, say, a good £10k amp? Judging by the NAP-500, I wouldn't make any assumptions.

Doubt I could be persuaded but it would be interesting to hear a Naim 5xx system, 500, 552, 555 ? against the TAD system I have here. Way too much heavy lifting.
I'd put the TAD ahead of the Statement at a guess too
