HiFi Mains LeadInteresting spiel, part of : About Me - Mains cables are my hobby. I have been studying and researching them for many years (over 20yrs) I research on how the cable performs with regards to sound and picture and how to tweak the sound by using different mains plugs and connectors.

That would be worth a punt by someone wanting to dip their toes into better mains cables.

Even if you are a mains cable 'fan' he isn't using anything particularly exotic or interesting in the construction ...

No, but for the money it looks good and uses nice cable and components.

S.L.A.M. seems to be his trademark.
He can do better than Russ Andrews for *components* as RA doesn't make them - unless he is using RA as enticement to bring in the punters.
Could be good. Price certainly is

Me Mother had an iron with a cable like that (Morphy Richards). Wonder if it helped getting the creases out? Can't remember for sure, but I think rubber (as used in iron cables) is a better dielectric than PVC.

I thought I'd caught the guy out using a fake Wattgate plug, but it looks like Wattgate's instructions really do start with ": Select a cable of suitable ampacity,..."

That's rather nice. A keeper? Amazingly, yes! It's my main 'spare' - handy if my amps or DACs go AWOL, and always ready to be plumbed back in when the urge arises. I plan to install mine (which I've had for a year or so) in my 2nd system (it's 75 miles away) next week.

I've just had another Ebay seller welshing on a deal - the second one in a couple of months. I paid him within a minute of the sale concluding, as I almost always do, and this time, I got an email saying he was going to cancel the sale because it didn't reach the price he was hoping for. Truthful but stupid! That's all the evidence I need. Then, I got a second email offering to sell me the item I had just bought for £2.90 for 'his price' of £25. Ebay have been alerted to the details. It will be interesting to see how it pans out.

An update on the above. I politely pointed out that he was obliged to complete his side of the sale and would be expecting delivery of my lens within the next few days. His response was to send me a refund. Ebay will be taking some sort of action against him, but as always, they want to continue to benefit from his cash, so it won't be the ultimate sanction that he deserves. Anyway, I enjoyed leaving him the following feedback - WINNING bid too low Wants to sell it to me AGAIN for 5x the price BAN HIM EBAY!Actually, it was closer to 8x the price, but I'm a forgiving sort of bloke. Well then, stone me if the item hasn't been relisted. What a surprise. www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Tamron-SP-BBAR-MC-Teleconverter-2x/173342515997?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649
...and with a buy it now price of £20 - the git expected me to grab it for £25, remember. Now then, here's the fun part! According to the listing, he will also take offers. I wondered if he might consider an offer of...oh I don't know...maybe £2.89 - a penny less than my previous winning bid. What do you reckon? Just thinking aloud here: Something else I have been wondering about Ebay offers - if more than one person made an identical offer, how do you think the seller might decide who the winner should be...? I wonder if I know anyone who might be interested in being the proud new owner of an extremely fine piece of optical equipment? No, I can't think of a single person...
