is there much difference in sound quality Sorry, can't answer that. I only mentioned it because I thought that this price instead of £160.00 was a good deal, although the newer version has (it says on the website) lower noise power supply and increased headroom.

What's going on here? Originally listed at £240 and £170 under another name. Now £740 or BO. Cannot even say if it's working or not, which I don't imagine it is. All he has to do is stick a cd in and press "Play". There's a fully working one for less: ebay.co.uk/itm/253559334238

Don't go near it, Stephen. They're too old and many have failed or are failing.
I nearly got burned by one but I had enough time to fully evaluate it when it played correctly. Very good for its time but it wouldn't worry a competent up to date CD player in terms of resolution.

Townshend Speaker Isolation PlatformsHighly recommended from here and a good price. Try a silly offer..... These are the ones before the current model and if I remember right from Tony a better bet

I know it not the last word in resolution, but I love the hands on experience. It also sounds quite excellent with my Sennheiser HD424 headphones. It was reduced to £200 or Best Offer and seems to have gone.

Ive not used it for over a year but i have the Black '930' UK Special Edition version of that Machine. The Fixed Laser Mech is a dream to use.. However they are only worth less than half that amount being a '920', less in silver finish.

The Sony fixed laser mech is superb, had one in my SCD-1. Quite slow to start up and read the TOC, though.
