The Nait 1 can pump out 10 amps compared to about 3.8 for Quad 405 MK I and 8 for MK II.

Thank's for that Mr Whippy. And did you know that its impossible for one to stick their arse out of the window then nip outside and throw stones at it...!!! Ar come on Jammy… EVERYONE! knows that - man! My nugget of information tells me the Nait 1 will drive speakers like Quad electrostatics better than might be imagined. On the other hand, your nugget tells me nothing, I didn't already know - entertaining, as it may have been!

Just who in their right mind would want to drive fine Quad electrostatic's with a Nait 1...!!! Besides, I say the Arse/Window/Stone feat is impossible, simply because i have attempted it on numerous ocassions, but im just not quite fast enough..... However - It is rumored in some circles though that the great and very fast sprinter Usain Bolt has actually done it......

It can be done, you just have to know how. Try using a window that's in the door - car windows are good! Especially in public places.

I honestly don't take paper specs too seriously. Experience has so often tended to confound the specs so I'd rather try different approaches and see if the outcome is good or not.

You should hear the amount of times we've had Xerox engineers come in to fix our big DocuTech and say "you can't do that", Answer, "We do" as well as quite a few "you do what ?!"

I was just a bit surprised when I found it on the 'net. I wouldn't have that it was an ideal pairing but apparently the Nait makes a decent stab at driving Quads and some are pretty happy with what results

.... 3.8 for Quad 405 MK I and 8 for MK II. The Naim I care doodly-squat about, but that bit is interesting.
Way back when I went from the 405/1 to 405/2 driving Quad 63 stats - much better grip and drive. So that's why - more current!
Mind you, the Audiolab 8000P power amp did it much better than either!

It's official. The North East is the duck-feeding capitol of the UK. Apparently, 84% of us have done it. Annually, 6 million loafs being fed to the duck community.
If we include another figure that 1 in 10 is unemployed we can extrapolate that 8.4% are duck feeders. One wonders what Mr Cameron might have to say if he knew that the unemployed of the North East were squandering their dole money in such a fashion…

I thought Cameron was already well understood on that one. He doesn't give a flying "duck" about the a north East because we don't vote for him
