 My name is Ron and I have been a music addict since pre- birth, dad was a Jango Reinhart fan and guitar player so I heard music whilst still at my foetal stage of music appreciation... its true folks! With that beginnings of my life its was destined that I would like Jazz, guitar music from my first breath in the world. Later I learnt to like classical and other forms of good music, mostly acoustic, todays offerings from XFactor etc are not for me! I'm an analogue person so first choice of listening comes from live concerts, vinyl, good FM broadcasts, tape and at the end of this comes cds, some of my cd collection I do enjoy., I recognise a few of the names on here, especially young Master MartinT whom I knew from another site that I no longer visit much. Hoping to get better acquainted with others but can assure all that I won't be notching up thousands of posts as I'm not in the habit or get a kick out of the numbers game. Turntable: Is a highly modified direct drive, secondary TT is belt driven for different flavouring as the mood takes me. Amplification: Is slightly modified SS re/psu/mono amps. Speakers: Nothing fancy but I've had them a long, long time and like my sofa I'm comfortable with 'em. Listening environment: Concert halls/ Jazz clubs and at home my sitting room, also upstairs in a small (read titchy) room for other media use. How I wish I could have a dedicated music shed. Musical taste: As above. Likes: Good music, a happy home life, my little dog plus the wife or course , a good holiday when possible and my retirement and not having to go to work on a cloudy, rainy winter morning, oh before I forget a pretty girl passing by on a nice breezy summer's day (sorry if the latter is not PC s no offence intended). Dislikes: Bloody minded, rude, wrongly opinionated and quarrelsome people, trolls, being conned and VAT @ 20% on everything I buy. There's more but that will do. Thats it, Ron

Thanks for friendly welcome Martin and Mike... looks like I'm going to enjoy being here and the site is very pleasing to the eye and content nourishing to the audio mindset.
Jeez this print looks small, is it me and computers?

PS.My dog is a fussy eater, very fussy, and I could not stand a further five unfinished bowls on the kitchen floor for me to put my bare tootsies in late at night whilst on a fridge raid.
You read books whilst still in the womb Mike? wow, must have been dam uncomfortable for you Mum when you flicked pages or went down to the local libary... no hard backs I hope?

Yes Django could certainly play I am big Birelli Lagrene fan too. Yes Django was self taught, I heard a story about Django and Segovia at the same party. Django was playing guitar and latter Segovia asked him where he could get the transcript of the music. Django replied he was improvising.
