I think most people still think of a computer as just that 'a computer' but in my limited experience you need to adjust that mindset and view it as an audio playback system and treat it like that, paying careful attention to power and the task it needs to perform, i.e. playing music and nothing else. Viewing it as 'a computer' is not ideal IMO, yes it will play music and you can use it for other things too, but view it solely as a playback source and configure it accordingly and the results can be very rewarding for less than the price of a high-end cartridge. Of course there's no theatre and nothing to admire so it won't suit all, but I just like to hear good music which is enough to keep me happy
