Tried the Ortofon SUT out yesterday before I sell it, just in case
Test with just the VIDA
Plug the Ortofon inbetween Technics and VIDA, change settings
Think it sounded slightly better in the mid range, more flowing generally. The boss said she preferred just the VIDA
Swapped back to double check
Nothing.
Checked, checked and checked. All seemed fine except no sound from the Technics/VIDA
As you know I am a technical expert of supreme abilities (not) but I was lost
What's the answer ?
Turn off the VIDA.
Come back an hour or so later.
Turn on
It works !? Great, but why ?

No idea on the circuit, but does it have any protection?

Maybe
My next, desperate move was to read the Japlish manual
Not aware of a reset

May have self resetting protection?

You hadn't pressed the mute button by any chance? :-)

When you say swapped back did you power down anything when you did this?
If not, power it down is a frequent recommendation what changing wires between anything. The power down and on again suggests the validity of the advice

Could be self protection coming into play. I've Muted and forgotten before -not saying how many times Didn't power down, changed Pre Amp input nothing on VIDA That's what I'll do next time !

You're supposed to turn the VIDA off between reconnections. I was about to say that you had plugged in to the MM sockets by accident, but you obviously had checked that.

Not happened before when swapping
Will make sure I do it in future though. Had me rather worried
