I like this. I have been vaguely aware of him, and know the more popular tracks. I always liked his song "Dancin' Boy" . Good to explore something different for a change.

I have now had the loan BMU for a while and been able to evaluate it carefully with a wide variety of music. My overall conclusion is that it is a simple, well-designed product which gives a significant, value for money improvement.
The BMU is heavy, and feels and looks like a quality product. It was completely silent when in use here.
I tried it with both cds and streamed flac and hi-res files. The changes it produced were clear but subtle rather than dramatic, and slightly hard to describe. The easiest thing to say it that is seemed to clear out the overall sound such that each instrument/voice could be identified/heard more precisely. It also upped the volume a bit, and added to the presence of the sound. As others have said, it especially seems to enhance the sound of drums and cymbals and bass guitar. The dirty bass on Peter Gabriel's "Lovetown" for example is cleaned up and grabs you more than ever when the BMU is in place.
To be truthful, I do not feel I experienced the "night and day" improvements that some of the other reviews has described. This could be because I am lucky to have fairly clean mains where I live, and because the Bryston pre and power amps I use are known for their superior electronics. The BMU is, however, a clear step-up and did produce a much better resolution and improved dynamics with every track I played. One of the best instances of this is Paul Weller's "Wild Wood" - a track that is quite sparse and slowly builds to a strong end.
Overall, I like what the BMU does and will almost certainly get one. The NVA Loan Scheme has enabled me to test it properly and I am very grateful for that. (Special thanks to DSJR for all his help and patience!) It has also made me keen to try the TIS which has been similarly well-reviewed via the Loan Scheme. It will be interesting to see if the TIS makes an equally impressive improvement.

Pinkie I have really had enough of this now.....you keep posting in your superior ultra-long-winded way, trying to create new arguments that no-one else can follow/is interested in. Why ? we all know that you are simply trying to keep your anti-NVA agenda going. Quite pathetic. (IMHO)
Two suggestions : 1) Man up and go over to HFS to continue your fight with Mr. Dunn. We don't want it here. 2) Stop your pointless "academic" polemic and listen to some of the units you are so determined to argue do not work. If you hear no difference, feel free to share. Likewise, if you do hear some improvements, as many others have done so, you may wish to comment.

Saw Carol over the weekend again, very well reviewed, beautifully shot, great performances, interesting plot line opposed female sexuality rails against the uber (on the outside) conservative America in the early 50's. Again did not engage me on the the level I was hoping for, for others it was quite wonderful I saw Carol yesterday and really loved it. As you say Tony, it is very stylish, a clever script, and wonderfully acted, especially by the two leads. I really liked its under-stated nature which somehow made the characters even more credible. Highly recommended.
