Outrageous Sir! You'll be getting a 'Spinal Tap' from me very soon Paul if you continue with these highly offensive and inflammatory remarks. Oops I thought Brits pronounce it "inflammatree". Carry on.

Thank you, Paul. I gave it a shot. Wasn't terrible but just not for me though Rush imo, and I know I'm objectively wrong (in case there are any Londonites afoot), is like trying to ingest a pan galactic gargle blaster, not everyone can stomach it.
@jules thanks for the warning about not liking Rush in London. I'll definitely lie or try to change the subject rather than face retribution.
Though there is one other band that reminds one of Canada. Boards of Canada, a Scottiah group.
I like some of their tracks though I could see how anyone would find them heinous.

Rush...for me. Found the vocals putrid and nearly paid for it with my life.

🤣🤣🤣 It looks like he didn't put the brake on, but the narrator's hopes and dreams dashed is even funnier.

I always felt like my antennae, even if I don't consciously know it, knows exactly what it's searching for, across any genre. Right on, Robert. I know exactly what I like even if I couldn't easily describe it. As well as deep dives into Qobuz and Spotify, I find a great source of fab music I've not come across before is the soundtracks of quality TV dramas. Series like The Blacklist have consistently played music that's had me reaching for Shazam and TuneFind. They then get added to my tryout playlist and then to a permanent one if they make the grade. Yes, I Shazam every time I'm at theater. Wow, Shazaming the intro tune to True Detective 1 was gold. I've tried The Expanse and gave up in 20 minutes, though I've heard reading the books then trying the show could work. Any good music in The Expanse?

Most of my life I've struggled with other people's suggestions, aside from the very rare great find.
I always felt like my antennae, even if I don't consciously know it, knows exactly what it's searching for, across any genre. Though that may be faulty naive thinking.
The numbers show me that by far the things I've become utterly infuated with have all been things I've found on Spotify deep dives and by just grabbing random cds that catch my eye.
Though now, in a forum like this, with so many threads showcasing music, and coupled with Spotify discovery, I click on and at least sample as much as I can just on the off chance that I'll find a gem for my collection.

This has always fascinated me. There's an incredible, and incredibly funny, book called 'The Language Instinct' by Stephen Pinker. Fan of it.
In Boston we drop the "R" but only if it's at the end of the word. Like Alex Scott dropping "G" when speakin, or talkin ye?
Maybe it's obvious it can only be dropped at the end of the word or there'd be no way to speak.
Imo it's all done to allow for rhythm. Or if not rhythm, then for speed, and all that for efficiency. Though in a portion of this article I know that elocution was the matter not efficiency of speaking.
Another thing pointed to by this article was what we have here in the states. Wood, food, dude, good, would.
I've had to tell people learning English a few times, good luck, we break all of our own rules.
Any chance anyone could tell me if this a passable British accent that is consistent to one region? Or is it junk and also just mixes different types of British accents. I've died laughing at this many times now. Some of my favorite guys here though, top blokes.

New Ridley Scott film 'The Last Duel'. I've become a bit of a Ridley Scott fan. Will look forward to see this.

I feel like that some days when getting home after a brutal day at work and pitched warfare on the M3 motorway. I know it will be this kind of day after work when I drive home with no music on, just complete silence. Just that thousand yard stare 😳 BTW, how is it in the UK with traffic and the road warfare? I'd love to move out of US and have considered UK and I know that traffic and road war would be a major factor to consider.

Omg. What is that above? Is that anything like a MOOG synthesizer Eurorack Modules running Generative Software www.modulargrid.net/e/racks/view/1138978: 8951 mA Price: €28.084 | Number of Modules: 108 Generative patches, or generative music, is the concept of connecting your modules in such a way that they basically play themselves with little or no interaction from the user, yet the music evolves and changes without repeating itself. Generative music can be incredibly creative but paradoxically, requires little or no input from a human once a setup has been built Wow. I did watch a documentary on Moog but a little bit of research has me even more interested in generative music. My favorite guitarist named Fredril Thordendal has made some head turning sounds come out of his 7 and 8 string guitars working with some wild equipment setups. Included something called a breath controller to be used when playing a lead solo. Here's a cover of it that focuses on just the solo. Thanks for the generative music tip!

Absolutely I prefer open backed headphones. I've owned a few closed backs but am picky about those because closed back sound imo is difficult to get sounding right.

Wow. Thank you.
Incredibly airy, seperation ...convincing spatial effects. I'm sold. I'd say the similar things about the Phillips shp9500, though I'd bet on this can it's brought to a new level. At that price a massive steal.
Thanks, will start looking.
