X-Type 3.0 manual AWD. Used to have an E36, just the 320i though. Was a good reliable car. An M3 I would like, but given the winters we can get up here..

With Monoblocks that good I consider putting the best isolation I can under them. Others here will disagree with me but think the monoblocks deserve it John, How do you know they are that good? Is my profile public? If it is I'd rather it wasn't, Thanks for your comment, though. I thoroughly agree with you and the said stand is now covered with books and magazines. The best one is the history of Verve " The Sound of America" a massive book from books.telegraph.co.uk. Sorry if I have done summat wrong again, but anyone interested in Jazz should have a copy, even discounted to £30. Anthony. p.s. I have no link with the Telegraph, just a true jazz fan. Seconded! I have that book, a great read.

It's not a problem as far as the TFS is concerned, I only use it to play music and occasionally a film.
Having said that, it's never been used since I got a vinyl front end sorted.

Thank you for taking the time trying the amplifier out John and for your observations. The amp is a one off digital design, (You can change the switching frequencies algorithms and latency's etc from a programmer we knocked up) switches around the 1.6Ghz region) no FETS on chip switching, delivering very close to 24ns switching. Maximum power output is 120Rms, currently sitting around 82Wrms for the best trade off, can deliver close to 28amps of current. Bandwidth of 120Khz (6th harmonic) Totally grain free presentation the project was conceived to put to bed the the mis information regarding digital amplifiers and mechanical sounds. When fed with a high end source and good mains it does produce some most pleasing sounds. Fear not will not go into production. An OTL design can sound good, some of the Burning amps make some good noises, though my experience with them has been a 50/50 issue with reliability. Sounds interesting Tony., mucho power!

It was originally 7, and yes, it was a definite upgrade going to 8. Got Gary to sort it out for me though, I'm not the world's best when it comes to computers. Gary reckons 8.1 sounds better again though.

Nought wrong with Windows 8.1 Very similar to 7 in terms of turning off and will protect you a lot more Not tried it yet John, don't want to update the TFS in case it fooks it up.

Yes, Output TransfomerLess John. I've heard a couple of the Transcendent kits, they are very good indeed, as I'm sure Alan's (Firebottle) new creation will be.

I been down the valve amp route Ali I would not get the speed I like unless I spent loads. Used to have a SAC Glowmaster and prefer the Bantam in my system. I would consider a SPUD amp as reckon they be fast enough if I could find one with a bit more power so knew it be able to rock Had the Mini T has great Transparency but the Bantam is so much better Perhaps if I went totally active with the Mini t for the treble and Bantam for the mids that might work I would suggest an OTL. Would be great running mid and top IMHO, should give you all the speed you need and massive soundstaging. Don't have to cost loads, ask Alan to build you one, or go for one of the Transcendent Sound kits. Don't need grunt for just running mid and top, especially with your sensitive drivers John.
