Steve Wright: BBC Radio 2 presenter dies aged 69. OBITThat's a shock, 69 is no age at all

Suranne Jones, LOL. I honestly don't know how she gets these gigs, she is utterly unconvincing in Vigil and there are so many much more talented actresses out there. It's a closed shop 😉

Vigil? you mean Ordeal 😂
I had to sit through them both, thank goodness for smartphones and the internet

We haven't enjoyed Reacher as much this season, pretty cheesy is what my wife described it as, the flashbacks are clumsily done and just slow the pace of the current situation.
Enjoyable enough, but for us just lacks something.

"Baptiste" on iPlayer. I'm two episodes in, and it's pretty good so far. It's another of those multilingual shows, with part-time subtitling, so be warned. It stars Tchéky Karyo (Boat Story, The Missing) and Tom Holland (The Ipcress File, The Night Manager). It's a spin-off from The Missing. Great series, Karyo is excellent in it.

Blood Coast, a new French cop series on Netflix.
Not bad, similar to Spiral.
Subtitled and has a few familiar faces in it.

I can see the terraced houses with 100s of cables lying across the pavements or worse the local toerags going around unplugging all these new lamppost ones, never going to work.
EVs are about as practical as a chocolate fireguard, ordinary working people can’t afford them and even if they could they just aren’t good enough yet, and the ones that are are out of reach of Joe Public.
Yes we need to do something to stop being reliant on fossil fuels but EVs ain’t it.
What will we do with all the 5/7 year old used up ones that will no doubt require battery replacement at a cost if several 1000£s?
Would you buy a 5 or 6 year old EV? I certainly wouldn’t.

Godzilla Minus One, great fun, incredible sound at the local Imax.
Harks back to the Japanese Godzilla movies of old. One of my top 3 movies this year.
Subtitled.

Still downinvesting ( there's a new word for you lol ) in my setup to divert the funds elsewhere so my Denafrips Ares 2 R2R DAC (Latest Firmware) is up for sale. No warranty as I bought it used but it's working perfectly. Currently running the 12 Anniversary Firmware. In original box. A few little marks on the edges of the DAC and it's missing the silly little rubber feet that sit inside the legs of the DAC. I just sat it on those rubber drum tuning pads you get from Amazon. The last 2 that sold on ebay this weekend (16/12) went for £655 and £640. £575 inc UK postage.Advertised elsewhere.

Mr Mercedes: Based on the Stephen King novel of the same name, and if I'd realised that the brilliant Brendan Gleeson was playing Bill Hodges I'd have started watching it yonks ago. 3 episodes into season one (there are three seasons, and there were three books in the "Bill Hodges" series) and loving it. Jeez that’s an old one, Gleason is excellent 😊

It won't work on my current tonearm so it's no use to me.
So I'll drop it to £625 inc UK postage for a few days then it'll disappear into the cupboard never to be seen again.

Amazon came up as an option when I was trying to find a way to send my 33kg power amp to Manchester, they were a good bit more expensive than the company I eventually went with, Amp on a Micro Pallet, total weight approx 40kg - £84, picked it up from here afternoon one day and it was delivered before 12 noon next day.
Amp then went in a container to Spain, that part took 15 days from the time it was booked into the container as they only send it filled.
Arrived in Valencia exactly as it left here.
PalletOnline took care of the Manchester journey, no idea about the Spanish trip, the buyer organised that part, so the risk for that was all his.
I'd definitely use PalletOnline for heavy items again.
