Hi Mike how do you find the TQ version Claymore I designed. Hi Colin, I really like it, I play mostly electronic and rock and this amp does really well with those, as well as acoustic. I bought it on the recommendation of a couple of people on the Wam and being second hand it was a great saving on new price. The phono stage in it is pretty good too and does a great job with my Gyrodec. I'm hampered a bit by my PMC 21 speakers but my wife chose those for their looks and size so don't think I'm going to have any joy trying to change those for anything bigger or better lol. Can't really see me changing the amp anytime soon. Thanks, Mike.

A gold version would go nicely with my black and gold Gyrodec, mind you I already own a Claymore (TQ Tellurium version) but hey you can never have too much hifi, right ?

Hi,
Just for info for all the users of the IQAudio DAC is that it will start to sound much better once run for around 50 hours, and a linear Psu makes a great improvement too.
Remember to ssh into the PI and set the playback (1st column) output settings to around 86 (0db gain) and the next two to 100% this should also show a marked improvement in audio quality.
If using Picoreplayer the command is alsamixer, if volumio then its sudo alsamixer.
Mike.

I wes shocked as well when I heard the Iridium, never heard bass so deep and controlled and the mid so wide and sweet, Im about to embark on my own Class A build, it's going to be a bit of a big monster. The transformers are being custom made for me right now, so watch this space. Hi, The Iridium is a bit out of my league lol, I just bought my system as I went along never thinking that I would end up spending £1000's and in hindsight I should have tried demoing some gear before diving in but that's not so easy in this neck of the woods and buying second hand has gotten me a system that if I'd bought new would rival the cost a a small family hatchback! Tempted at building speakers for my second system that I use in my PC room, thought about amp build too using either Ncore or Hypex parts, but speakers look simpler to begin with. I look forward to seeing how your amp build goes. Mike.

Welcome Mike, nice to see another TQ amp on the forum. Hi, Thanks. Hadn't even heard of the amp until it popped up for sale a few weeks ago, it was well reviewed by a couple of mags and several comments by guys on the Wam convinced me to buy it. Suits my taste in music and is a good step up over the Brio R I owned previously, mind you at nearly 8 times the price (retail) it should be lol. Mike.
