Isolated pigs brains revived with synthetic blood and pump and normal electrical activity returned.
The concern now is it being applied to human ones and raises the issue of consciousness.

Is this it?: Should I stop arsing about with shagged out amplifiers and just get an NVA? But I like me DIY.

String suspension isn't something unique or new. The Well Tempered Arm used it decades ago - and continues to.

It's really simple: you accept the inherent limitations - or you take up stamp collecting. There's no point in wanting the (dark side of) the moon, when it's something you're never going to get. Life's a compromise. You choose which one suits you best. Are you really saying listening on an AM transistor radio 50 years ago was better to a decent MP3 file now? You have to Put up with the Record noise being a phones listener its worse. The Am Radio MP-3 comment. Dont talk so stupid. Having used headphones for decades, I'm well aware of the issue of record noise. Again, you accept the inherent limitations - or you take up stamp collecting. Oh, and I wasn't talking stupid regarding AM transistor radio v MP3 file.

I agree takes effort to get digital to sound natural. But these days I get no sense of harshness. I have a top rate TT and have not used it for a few years. I thought you no longer liked analogue with regards to getting the best sound? I love Analogue. The frustration lies with Record noise, im an headphone listener. Impossible to get a totally noise free records, Hiss free tapes. I use Digital for convenience but dont take it seriously It's really simple: you accept the inherent limitations - or you take up stamp collecting. Will it have the sophistication of a Leeds event?:

I presented the facts so others could make up their own mind. Not sure why you had to be involved. It was Mr Firebottle that was asked.
As for forum personas... You could take a closer look to home.
I'll leave you to have the last word. You're beginning to remind me of that certain "other" forum persona.

Obviously not.

The Bee Gees' double of hits is HDCD and sounds more than rather good undecoded. Some of Mike Oldfield early albums were HDCD but didn't sound anything special undecoded. Scott Walker's first four albums were also on HDCD and sound pretty good undecoded.
Found this on YouTube last night. His video on 70's soundtracks is interesting. One on a mains filter that I haven't watched yet:

Hi all, Thanks to the hospitality of an esteemed AoS mod, there will be a phonostage bakeoff taking place in Stoke. Currently confirmed as attending are Alan (Firebottle) with his Vivant phonostage, myself with my DIY "Wizard" phonostage and Macca (Martin, The Host) We are hoping to get a Paradise phonostage owner to volunteer to attend and we are also actively looking for a NVA Phono2 (MC input) to participate. As you can see, our aspiration is to get some of the top phonostages together in one room. If anyone has a Vida phonostage, or something of similar ilk (MF, LDA, VALAB LCR, Tron, Ray Samuels, Croft RS) And would like to attend, please get in touch. There will be a lot of photos taken so give them a clean too 😉 A date is TBC but should be before June System will consist of a cocktail of: Technics SP10 MK2, Tenuto Platter matt, PMAT 1010 tonearm, Kontrapunkt b cartridge into either NVA pre or Slagle AVC into either NVA Monos, Krell power amp or Firebottle Monos, into JM Labs speakers or Tannoys. Cables are NVA or SPOTFIRE or ...... Whatever you may wish to bring that sounds best. This part will be confirmed on the day. Can the facts surrounding this soirée be registered? It was Mr NVA that proposed it when Mr Firebottle joined his forum. It was Mr NVA that proposed that Mr Firebottle could contact the esteemed Mod at AOS as he was seen to be unbiased towards NVA product. This, Mr Firebottle did, and indeed Macca, esteemed Mod, was willing to carry out the duty - but only if Mr NVA didn't attend. And so Mr NVA responded as he did. Now, surely, surely, the decent, fair-minded, reasonable action would be to look for an alternative venue acceptable for traveling for both parties. This is what Mr NVA is looking for, but is apparently being disregarded. So, if anyone here would like to help with a venue, they might like to contact Mr Firebottle here or Mr NVA at his forum.

At 61 this is my most-watched music video. I've been watching it ever since it came out, before she became famous:
I don't know what it says about me.

Perhaps Macca will do the decent thing then and give his reasons. RD is RD and is unlikely to change. I don't think a look in the mirror would result in change. As an impartial observer, at times he does seem to do himself no favours and can be his own worst enemy. On the other hand, that has to be sent against the tosh directed in his direction from individuals with their own agendas and axes to grind, not to mention those that dislike the mirror of truth held up to them. I'm still at a loss as why he is regarded as he is. A Marmite personality. But does he really deserve what gets directed his way? At least you're not neutered on his forum. Whilst I agree that he gets a lot of stick, you have to ask yourself why that is. Why indeed.

How would you respond if after instigating an event you are then banned from attending? What's Macca's problem? Or is he just following orders? Macca is a grown man who can answer his own questions. How would I react? Firstly, I'd be disappointed that I wasn't welcome and have a good look at myself to evaluate why that would be the case. Secondly, I'd try and build some bridges if the absence of my person and my equipment bothered me. Thirdly, I'd never threaten an existing, loyal customer base with blacklisting them, removing their warranty and future product support, if they provided THEIR PURCHASED AND OWNED equipment for a bakeoff. A threat which could potentially put off new customers. Would I buy a product that I'm not free to do as I want with? Imagine buying a Sony TV and them saying AFTER you've bought it, "We don't support the BBC so if this TV is used to watch ANY BBC channel, we will blacklist you so you can no longer buy Sony goods, remove your warranty and all future support. Outrageous. No one would buy it. Anyway, that's why I felt it best to fore warn anyone potentially thinking of loaning or attending with NVA gear. Perhaps Macca will do the decent thing then and give his reasons. RD is RD and is unlikely to change. I don't think a look in the mirror would result in change. NVA owner Richard Dunn, is threatening to blacklist anyone who loans us or attends with an NVA Phono 2. ****Please be aware of this**** We don't want to get anyone blacklisted. PM me for further details. How would you respond if after instigating an event you are then banned from attending? What's Macca's problem? Or is he just following orders?
