Stranger things ended well. All set up for a third series. We watched a bit of the after show. Wasn't that good. 011 (El or is it Jane now?) played by Millie Bobby Brown was sounding decidedly English. Turns out born in Spain of English parents, lived in Bournemouth for 4 years age 4-8 and then Orlando..
Back to Jordskott and Black lake for us now..

Watched the first two episodes of Black lake. It's Swedish / Danish / Norwegian actors give a real Scandi wide feel.
Has a scary teen movie feel, although they are in their 20's. Marie doesn't really like creepy, scary. Even though it's pretty low level scary to me..
As said, stunning scenery. Makes us want to be skiing up there again.

Witnesses is proving to be as high quality as the first series. Marie Dompnier puts a lot of depth into her character.

I intend to have a holiday in that kind of wilderness doing long distance snowmobiling and husky sledding ... The mrs doesn't fancy it but my son is well up for it!

Another Scandi noir, or sort of is, Black Widows.. It's more humorous than your average (is there such a thing) Nordic noir.. m.imdb.com/title/tt5433600/Worth checking out for the cast of 3 leading ladies alone. Charlie's Angels got nothing on these gals! Apparently it started out as a Finnish drama and the format was sold on and recreated as a Danish / Norwegian / Swedish drama. It's involves 3 couples, a Dane married to a Swede, a Swede married to a Norwegian, you get the idea..

Saw a couple of episodes of this one.. Rather off beat Norwegian period comedy. Yes, that's Viking period - 8th century Been dubbed Game of thrones meets Monty python, or more like Vikings meets Monty python. Very Scandinavian humour.. It was made in Norwegian first and was popular so made in English with Norwegian actors, accent and all. In fact the first episode had one million viewers out of a five million total population of Norway! Imagine if any UK or US drama had that! It's on Netflix btw www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2017/sep/14/norsemen-netflix-review

Give "Halt and catch fire" a go on Amazon Prime - I really enjoyed the whole lot (4 series). It's based around computers, software, the Internet etc and takes me back to the very early days of PC's etc.
Cheers. Bill

Vikings series 5 is back on Amazon Prime!
If anyone has Sky or NOWTV, Babylon Berlin is highly recommended!

Last night I watched parts 1 and 2 of a 3 part series of made for TV films called Red Riding, set in Yorkshire during 1971, 1980, and 1983. They're fictional accounts of the corruption in the Police force, and all the sort of stuff we don't see behind the scenes. Whilst the characters and events are fictional, they're set against the backdrop of real life murders at the time - 1980 was set during the Yorkshire Ripper murders, for example. 1974 was good, 1980 was better - going to watch 1983 tonight, hopefully. Not sure where these are viewable though, as my borther bought the Bluray which has all three parts on, so I watched his.

the leftovers . . true detective Both superb series. The final episode of both The Leftovers and True Detective S2 were some of the best TV I've ever seen.

Following it up with the only film I could think of to follow that - Paddy Considine’s excellent Tyrannosaur.

I've started watching Peaky Blinders - very late to the party - I know! Seen three episodes of S1 and enjoying it very much so far.
