Picard still looking promising. Shame that it's only on Prime.

I started watching "Swamp Thing" on Prime today. The first episode was promising and I'll definitely be going back for more.

Since you can't really bring people back from the dead, you've got to write some cod methodology!

Started watching the new Italian-German adaptation of The Name of the Rose on BBC2.
Not a patch on the original film version so far with some fairly gratuitous CGI and gratuitous overacting from the lesser roles. John Turturro is perfectly watchable as the Franciscan sleuth.

There is a new series starting at 21:00 tonight on BBC 1 called "Dublin Murders." If it's as good as the Tana French book(s) it'll definitely be worth a watch.

Thumbs up for "Dublin Murders," mentioned above. I shall be recording Episode 2 tonight. This is good news too: " His Dark Materials, Jack Thorne’s adaptation of Philip Pullman’s acclaimed series of novels, will have its global premiere on Sunday 3 November on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. His Dark Materials is produced by Bad Wolf and New Line Cinema for BBC One and HBO." I read elsewhere that this is the most expensive drama of its kind ever commissioned by the BBC, and they wouldn't actually let on how much its costing. Series two is already in production. Behind the scenes.

We started watching The Boys. It's also about some girls too. Super powered heroes who should be doing good, fighting crime, aren't all good, or good much of the time for that matter. Blue collar non powered honest guys set to bring them down.
What's not to like 😀 Amazon Prime.

I'm now onto Swamp Thing, but I must try to loop back to The Boys I think.

After lots of good and acceptable viewing - Black sails, Glitch, The Boys etc we tried Another life again. Nope it's just too bad for us to waste our time on.
Started watching Carnival Row. Racism no! Think Speciesism.. Made us think of the current anti immigrant / intolerant atmosphere here and around the world, and the parallels to the Kurds current plight.. Much water to go under the bridge before we see what unfolds.

I hope you enjoy Carnival Row as much as I did, I seem to remember describing it as a cross between Tolkien and Ripper Street with some steampunk thrown in. I'm really looking forward to season two now.

I've finished s1 of Swamp Thing. It was so-so; I won't be watching s2. It was a perfect example of why I prefer Marvel characters to DC characters. It's the difference between Superman's lantern jaw, and desire to "do the right thing" all the time and many of the Marvel characters who skirt the law, and have a sense of bloody humour. It's not supposed to be taken seriously. Would it kill you to put a joke-or-two in there DC? I've now started s1 of "Absentia" so no judgements as yet, but it has got Stana Katic in the lead role.
