As per the title, getting more bass than I desire, although probably it’s just noise causing the issue, but let me explain and see how anyone can help?
I have over the last months worked on improving my Qobuz and VOD stream. I have added the zero zero power supply to the router. I have both power supply and router on supports with weights on top.
Power supply has quality power cable, same as rest of system. It is also plugged into a filter multi-way lead. £40 version so I can see this is one weak point.
The zero zero has had both fuses replaces, SR orange on IEC input and Hi-Fi tuning supreme 3 internally. The power lead has a Hi-Fi tuning in the 13 amp plug also.
Finally the router has a Quartz Audio grounding box on it attached to the usb port.
The problem is that the bass has grown as I have made the changes, but now seems a little too much. Slight lack of definition, making it slightly overwhelming when compared to my local Melco server. Which sounds right and more detailed in the bass area due the better balance. This is not only on my main system, but all systems in the house, with the Sonos one’s being the hardest hit as some music is way too brassy now.
One small upside is action movies sound great, but music is my priority so I am keen to try and resolve it.
I am after any suggestions on how I can resolve this? Thanks.

lt could be just a room resonance issue, my room resonance became more noticeable when l started to upgrade my PSU, like the Zero Zone. lt's resulted in me having to create a PEQ filter at -3db at 68hz.
You should be able to pick up on this running a sweep tone, and a mobile phone app. Or if it really bugs you ,you can use REW software

I would say it's natural for bass potency to increase as you improve the front end. It suggests that your speakers are overloading the room. Try decoupling them with Podiums, absorbent footers or pads designed for the job.
Anything but spikes, which are the worst supports for speakers.

Excellent point Martin, l'd forgotten about decoupling, as l've done the same myself to my subs, and indeed it tightened the lower end nicely.

If all else fails, get a roll of the RFI blocking tape and completely wrap some of your iec connectors, leaving only the part that actually plugs into the back of your equipment untaped. The tape is great for quietening the background and increasing detail and bass tightness, but too much tape around the system can reduce bass potency. This may work for your issue.

But you say that local files served from the Melco sound fine, is that right? I'm sure that decoupling the speakers and maybe addressing resonance will be beneficial, but it may not address the difference you hear between streamed sources and the server.

I have to say I do love being part of this community, so thank you for all the replies. If I start with my room, it has a pretty good response and here is a REW graph in 1/6th smoothing to show what I am getting. There are not any resonance issues as they have all been taken care of, although my subwoofers are still on spikes, so maybe something to look at, but not the cause of the increased bass due to the recent noise addressing upgrades. I certainly have witnessed the increase of bass potency as the noise has been reduced. Which is positive. Re-reading my initial post, I would reflect that if you were to just listen to streamed music and not compare you may not notice the slight increase in bass, probably hard it put in writing without hearing it, but some would say it is quiet subtle, but then that is the game we are in! Any locally stored content on disc or hard drive has defiantly benefitted from the extra bass potency that reducing the noise in my system has brought about. The issue is only with the streamed content from external to the house. All the feedback has given me a couple of ideas, firstly I need to revisit the router positioning and support (it is a restricted space), the power feed to router (sadly it is too far from my power conditioner) plus the grounding box is just on the floor at present so I need get that properly supported.

although my subwoofers are still on spikes That there. Try putting them on decoupling supports, you'd be amazed at how much tighter they sound and how much less they load the floor and the room.

Moved my subs and I Isoacoustic Gaia 3’s and Boom! Well no I should say no more Boom and now more Punch!
They have done an amazing job, really transformed the bass and this has a positive impact on the overall sound and clarity. They no longer interact with the room, despite already having a smooth response.
