Yeah,amazing isn't it!! It's only in 11metres of water as well so hopefully it can be recovered. Terrible story though - the expedition fell apart and descended into cannibalism....

I was just hearing a news report about it on the radio. The chap being interviewed was saying that they knew the general location because the local Inuit people handed down stories of ghostlike people dressed in black wandering around lost.

Yip,the local Inuits had also helped search for these men and had found various bits n bobs. Food tins and bones mainly! It was only when the Northwest Passage opened up(for the first time in 2008) that a proper search could begin.
