Great tool to discover new music. Has put me onto a number of new to me bands.
Picked up loads for a nice price on Ebay and likely there are people still selling boxes of them
Recently I played more horrors than good, but I still have a stack to hear and the kitchen playlist is running out, so.....
Very good tracks from Uncut - 2011 The best of the year so far. Vaguely know one or two of the names on there. Will be investigating artists after the 2nd listen

Uncut was a brilliant mag. I bought every issue from #2 onwards (I missed issue #1 somehow) until a couple of years ago. I discovered a lot of new artists via Uncut; it cost me a bloody fortune, that magazine. I discovered Jackie Leven, Ali Farka Touré, The Handsome Family, Cat Power, Jim White, Chris Robinson, and Neal Casal in the pages of Uncut, and it's where I first read about bands as disparate as Uncle Tupelo, Calexico, and Tinariwen, and that's just off the top of my head.

Has Uncut ceased to be, Paul? (Or do magazines always just fold when they go squit?) I never bought it, except the very odd time for a last minute buy of something to read on a flight.
Instead, I subscribe to Mojo but I have a similar tale to tell about the discoveries I've made and money I've spent!

It just became less relevant to my general musical tastes and I suddenly realised I was only interested in about half of the articles, so I let my subscription lapse.

I got hold of either Mojo or Uncut, can't remember. A couple of interesting articles in about a dozen mags for me.
The CDs a much more plentiful resource.
Mind you the next one up was the roots of Nalob Cram Not for me, old rock and roll stuff

I bought Q right from its early days and enjoyed its more liberal approach to music after the narrowness of Melody Maker and NME. I see it's still going after all these years.
