About last August I did an update on my mobile. Beforehand, I was really quite pleased with the sound of it for music using the player on the KeepVid app. Anyway, after I started the download I remember that updates can take you a step back with some apps. I have had it happen in the past and ended up with a worse sound, but it seemed too late to stop the download by the time I thought about it. Duly updated, I had a listen, hoping all would be ok - and it was; better, actually. The soundstage now became a soundscape: everything was HUGE! That was about main improvement I got. And I've been grinning ever since.
The KeepVid app is a video downloader and I've been collecting some rather good-sounding ones from YouTube. Here are a few. Most are soundtracks and female vocal, as it's what I listen a lot to:

Love that Jeff Baxter version of Rikki... especially as it has Nathan East on bass. Thanks for reminding me about Lera Lynn too.

That is a good version of Rikki. I'd like to hear him do Third World Man.

I think it's better than the original.

Didn't include this as the sound doesn't particularly stand out.
What does stand out though, is AFL's vocal performance:

Wow! Fabulous. Eric was playing as if he'd just remembered he used to be in a band named Cream. I couldn't resist posting this, from 1967, which is roughly 46 years before the above version... Shame about all the screaming, but they were a "pop group" after all.

Screaming didn't bother me; like the live sound. Not a patch on his later effort, though. I never think of him as a guitarist, just as the singer in Amen Corner. He was playing guitar early on before Amen Corner, whom he was with for only 3 years. Watched a few of his videos and he seems to have a bit of an odd style: looks like he's not really doing much. Anyway...
