Cherubini - wasn't he centre-forward for AC Milan??
Actually I am ashamed to say I don't know this composer at all and look forward to getting stuck into this, should be my kind of thing ...

He was quite prolific, Jules. His string quartets are well worth investigating. This is rather lovely too...

I read that he had to write his own death Requiem for male voices as religious authorities were upset about him using females previously ...

Glass - Koyaanisqatsi
Potent, mesmerising, unutterably beautiful. Glass at his minimalist peak. Try this track and play it loud in a dark room.
The CD is hard to find but so worth having.

Not the version I'm playing, but I know you chaps aren't averse to a bit of Sir Nev. If you enjoyed Nev's Brandenbergs you might well like these too.

Hang on a sec Paul - I've never heard this but I'm sure whoever composed the music for the Blackadder theme tune used this for 'inspiration' for the main music theme!! Listen to the motif at 00-14 and 00-45 ...It then gets repeated in the background several times later.

Blackadder apart, what did you think of the Boyce symphonies, Jules? To be honest Paul it’s not really my cuppa - I find it somewhat ‘baroque by numbers’ and ultimately lacking the flair and invention of the leading baroque masters. I did however enjoy the slow movement that starts about 2 mins in …
