Gladiator - epic film and soundtrack!
I wouldn't call it classical music but just my gut feeling ...

TONY BANKS (of Genesis) 2012’s "Six Pieces For Orchestra." This is excellent.
He will be releasing his 3rd classical record in February. It is to be called "Five".
His first orchestral cd was "Seven: A Suite For Orchestra", 2004.

Just delivered chez moi, this beautifully presented set in its black & gold livery, with a nice booklet. Sounding divine - the usual uber reliable sound quality from Philips!

Here's an exceptional Bach lp I have just received from Germany. It has a beautiful gatefold sleeve. The digital recording has excellent resolution, air and clarity whilst the performances are superlative, as you would expect from this outfit.

Virtuoso harpsichord performance of the Goldberg Variations by the late and great Alan Curtis. HD on YouTube ... Just fabulous!
If you only want to taste a snippet, try it from 11-14 for some serious dexterity ...

I've only ever seen this album as a single CD before, in fact, I own the single CD. I knew there was a version available with one CD and a DVD but I've recently discovered a 2 CD version that doesn't seem to exist outside of Amazon where a used/VG copy is selling for under three quid, including postage. I now own the 2 CD version as well. There is no excuse for you not to own it too. Here's what you get for your £2.98... CD1 | CD2 | 1. Plainsong Te Lucis Ante Terminum
2. Palestrina - Kyrie From Missa Papae Marcelli
3. Lotti - Crucifixus
4. Allegri - Miserere
5. Tomkins - When David Heard
6. Purcell - Hear My Prayer
7. Barber - Agnus Dei
8. Byrd - Iustorum Animae
9. Byrd - Ave Verum Corpus
10. Tallis - If Ye Love Me
11. Tallis - O Nata Lux
12. Tallis - Salvator Mundi
13. Byrd - Agnus Dei From 4pt Mass
14. Gorecki - Totus Tuus
15. Lassus - Timor Et Tremor
16. Blow - Salvator Mundi
17. Sheppard - Libera Nos
18. Plainsong In Paradisum | 1. Tavener - The Lamb
2. Gibbons - Hosanna
3. Plainsong Veni Creator Spiritus
4. Parsons - Ave Maria
5. Melgas - Salve Regina
6. Monteverdi - Christe, Adoramus Te
7. Josquin - Ave Maria
8. Mouton - Nesciens Mater
9. Plainsong Ubi Caritas
10. Bruckner - Locus Iste
11. Palestrina - Sicut Cervus
12. Lassus - Ave Regina Caelorum
13. Victoria - Salve Regina A 8
14. Guerrero - Ave Virgo Sanctissima
15. Weelkes - Hosanna
16. Guerrero - Duo Seraphim
17. Purcell - Beati Omnes
18. Poulenc - Salve Regina
19. G. Gabrieli - Exultet Iam Angelica |

Virtuoso harpsichord performance of the Goldberg Variations I know the piano versions so well that this takes some adapting to. Virtuoso performance though, as you say.
