Very interesting to hear an entirely Spanish performance of Vaughan Williams' London symphony! It's very good, although it's in decent but not quite hi rez sound..

Amazing to hear a Spanish orchestra sound so English. Then again, our orchestras frequently sound German!

This is a smooth and flowing, rather than exciting and impactful, Beethoven 5th symphony. I must admit that is the way my tastes seem to be going these days, with audio as well as musical presentation. -- although the recently mentioned Levine Dvorak 7th goes against that trend. Anyway, I really enjoyed this 5th by Marriner.

Jerry, if you like Marriner's Beethoven, you must try his 3rd. It's essential listening.

... and from the sublime to the ... differently sublime ... [Segerstam is seldom less than interesting, sometimes eccentrically so, but these are very fine Mahler readings imo] tidal.com/browse/album/23193218

fascinating - the rarely heard 1st symphony by Stenhammar, with an intro chat by Andrew Manze - very Brucknerian in places www.konserthuset.se/en/play/stenhammar-symphony-no.-1/... with links to many other interesting recordings by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra
