Heard my son learning to play this with his teacher today for the first time, so had to give it a spin ...

Some modern "Baltic Concerti", including a double concerto for organ and violin. Lots of good stuff coming out of the Baltic!

'Gavotte en Rondeau' is always a favourite of mine.
I was looking at different performances on YouTube and found this clip from 2008 of a 15 year old not just playing it, but feeling it - deeply impressive! I wonder how she plays 11 years later?

There's no doubt about it, Jules has got a thing about female violinists! Perhaps he's looking for a suitable partner for his son. _____________________ Some pleasing Handelian sounds this p.m.

The Telemann is superb - he seems to have a real empathy with the oboe.
I think it’s even better on period instruments - this recording with Belgian oboist Paul Dombrecht also includes a couple of oboe d’amore concertos.

I'm a huge fan of Telemann's trumpet works, but I shall be looking more closely at his other pieces for solo instruments. I really do like that oboe album.

Of course there are the solo violin works, but also check out his Viola da Gamba!

Viola da Gamba? That's the one that sounds like somebody playing the violin with a rasp, isn't it?
