Does anyone else, like me, occasionally go three or four days without playing any music? I find silence relaxing, and I'm quite happy to peck away at my keyboard updating/creating images or whatever in total silence. It's something I've always done and at one place where I worked people ended up calling my office "the library." I shared the office with my boss and she had the same attitude. It's not that we didn't talk, we just didn't talk unnecessarily. It's not to say that we didn't get along, either; we got along great, but both of us got more work done without the unnecessary external stimuli. We were also the only office that refused to put up Christmas decorations, but that's another story. So, do you go through periods of self-imposed silence, or is it yet another reason I'm a bit odd?

Any days without music would be too difficult.
Walking the dogs this morning I noticed the peaceful silence. Except it wasn't silent. As good as though. Wind in the trees, faint bird song, very faint car noise from probably the motorway. Slight noise from dogs walking.
No music when I ride the bike. Some of my country lanes are almost silent and that is wonderful.
My office always had music playing. Worked better with it. Although I confess difficult music not so conducive.
Hate it when people talk for the sake of it. Are you there to work or talk ?
Christmas decorations just say No

Silence from people, I do enjoy. The inane prattle of empty words can drive me insane. At those times, I appreciate the quiet.

Often playing in my head.....
Shut up and *say* something !
Often had an internal dialogue with people. What a load of crap. Do you always talk bollocks ? You're bullshitting and not well Can't you see I know you are exaggerating or lying ? Occasionally I had to say No, that's not right

I sometimes have a break from music for a day or 2, something I would of never even considered a few years ago

Yeah,I enjoy real peace. Rare though as the mrs hates it. She'd have the tv on in the background if she had the choice but I utterly detest that.

No, I need music every day. Lots of it.
I enjoy the silence of the woods and hills. Just natural sounds.
I dislike and am irritated by needless prattle - small talk, seems pointless to me. - if you are comfortable with someone then you don't need to talk all the time just to fill in the silence.

I do exactly the same actually but at the moment it is an enforced break from the system whilst looking after my son during holidays. I'll just get a bit of spotifying in the evening.
