Discogs is doing my head in at the moment.
Just had a hat-trick of very disappointing purchases.
First one, the dude told me it was going to be late as he was on holiday and then I waited a couple of weeks and nothing - he didn't send it.
No direct refund, then had to wait to get a paypal refund. What a waste of time.
Next one - still trying to get a mint copy of 'Crime of the Century'. This one was an early copy graded mint / mint and I admit a took a chance on a fairly new seller, but according to discogs grading mint is like new, so how hard can it be? It arrived with a VG cover - lamination lifting off all the way down the spine. hmm - not very mint. So of course the vinyl was a huge let down - filthy labels and worn spindle, you can guess the rest ...
The seller was very apologetic and I got a prompt refund but again, a total waste of time, spending time cleaning it in on the rcm, giving it a new inner etc A big let down.
And the last one, a 12" single graded NM/NM from a seller I had used before. Just don't know what these guys are thinking - it arrived absolutely filthy, fingerprints all over and large visible marks.
Cover clearly no better than VG+. Good cleaning got rid of most snap, crackle and pop but not all - I have clearly wasted time and money again ...
There are some very good sellers on ebay but what I don't understand is how some people can get it so wide of the mark.
