I did have a good dialogue going with Arthur at one point, tried to persuade him to join TAS. Very nice chap but he seems so busy that he rarely has time for anything else.

Credit to you for trying. He would be a real asset. If he ever considers joining a forum in the future, TAS would certainly be the best option.

I think the WT arm is stabilised with a Delrin disc in a fluid filled cup as shown in the pics. I don't know about the Gett arm unless it either doesn't need it or there's a magnet assembly - I need to do some research The original was. The next incarnation used a golf ball. Yes, a golf ball. The dimples increased stability. Don't know what the current version employs.

No golf ball, Dave. No golf ball. Quite a genius application, to my mind. You can get a clone. $550. Not what you might call a..."looker", is it? And yes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I'd love to try one of these designed more around modern cartridges - and in the meantime I read up again about how the Gray pivot and damping worked www.karmadon.net/shop/viscous-damped-tonearm-2/The price is amazing and to put it into perspective, how much is a Nima these days? I think it's around £600!

That underside view of the Grey, Stephen, has a gantry-like construction reminiscent of my Dynavector.
