On a serious note, I see no point in banning anybody, its like losing an argument by using insult. If their posts are moderated and the offending parts removed, it then offers a chance for them to start behaving differently or continue to have their post modified into ineffectiveness. Spot on.

Pinky , I have made no personal reference ever to the merits of NVA equipment not anywhere ever in over 5000 posts except LS speaker cable and that is so infrequent you weren't even aware I used it . If I may say so it is apparent you work with numbers and I with words .
I described a state of affairs that exists . I made no comments at to my feelings upon it .
Any person need only read any of the hifi forums and you will find genuine descriptions of pleased owners which amounts to an enviable reputation for sound quality and price . If I manufactured hifi I would covet NVA's reputation .
I am however pleased to note you manage to respond without mentioning the pip .
P.s - the consistency of my views and opinions are there for all to see on whatever forum you care to set your gaze .

NVA - British made amplifiers with an enviable reputation for sound quality and price .
Is that gratuitous promotion? It is at least the 3rd reference to the merits of NVA in one of your posts, although I understand you own no NVA amplifier, cable, or other product, and therefore cannot have paid for one. More to the point is why you see at as so important to stop it being said?

Leave your baggage at the door when entering a new room is my view.
Of the 10,000 or so hi-fi equipment manufacturers, how many get banned?
If I was marketing a brand I would want the widest possible acceptance and news / chat about it. What you may be doing is "cutting your nose off to spite your face" sort of thing.
I wish you luck with your business, but it's your living and I personally would want to make a sound one.

There are some forums that make doc seem quite a happy chappy. So if he seems a miserable old sod, then he is in good company. As for being banned, if he ( or anyone else) didn't break the AUP then no, it isn't correct . As for not being allowed to mention NVA products, it's rather childish but not surprising.

That's fine, providing you don't mind the grief and have nothing else better to do with your time! There's a lot to be said for a quiet, stress-free life Marco. Why should you want a stress free life? You'll just go to sleep and miss the remaining years. Keeps you young. Lol - each to his or her own, I guess! Sometimes (based on the principle of 'life's too short') the path of least resistance is mighty attractive Marco.

Hmmm.....if I may say so, on the 'brand new startometer' that little exchange rates a barely creditable zero

Marco - Well you just hijacked the thread in your last couple of posts to talk about yourself, so I thought I would help you along.

Nope. I was responding to a point Gordon made. You then took that as an opportunity to have a dig.

A (deserved) dig it may be but it is very a propos to this thread, and demonstrates a level of hypocrisy that is astonishing.

Given the above stated aim of the forum this thread does nothing to further my knowledge or my experience of music and its reproduction. I suggest the whole thing be deleted then we can all get back to enjoying ourselves.

In response to the OP:
The stance taken by the owner of PFM does seem rather pathetic BUT, it is his forum and I guess that he can do what he likes - the only comfort is that he diminishes himself in the process.
I have recently become an owner of P50,2X A40, Phono 2 (single power supply). I have paid for all of them (second hand) and really don't think that I will be looking for "upgrades" - never been so content with the amplification side of my system. Also very impressed with Mr Dunn's willingness to adapt the Phono to MM sensitivity at very short notice and low cost (particularly creditable when one considers that I bought it second hand). So I guess that I could be said to hold NVA products in high regard.
It is becoming quite noticeable that some people contributing here (and in several other threads) are trying to provoke Mr Dunn. Really boys, time to grow up and take notice of the forum ethos, it is all a little too reminiscent of playground bullies.

Thanks (hobnob). The essence of our approach is not worrying about what has happened elsewhere, everyone gets a clean start here. Moderating the message rather than the person is key. An obviously sensible approach. This is how it should be on all forums. (shame we have a thread on this topic really)

I suggest the whole thing be deleted then we can all get back to enjoying ourselves. We're not about just deleting threads - this one may be of interest to some because it gives some back history. However, it may have run its course so we'll put a stop to it.
