I love the self titled / Rumours & Tusk albums but don't know the earlier albums at all...
Could anyone recommend a couple to start with?

Jeff Beck can do no wrong in my book. Eric has had good and bad spells.

Jeff Beck can do no wrong in my book. Eric has had good and bad spells. I agree re Eric, he's done some excellent stuff and some right poop, but I don't know what it is about Jeff Beck, even though I own a few of his albums, they aren't albums I'd listen to out of choice.

The first two Jeff Beck Group albums are superb. Have you tried 'Guitar Shop' Paul?

I think they went downhill after Peter Green went away with the faeries. I agree. Actually I agree with reservations. I can't think of any album of Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac that's great from start to finish, apart from the Greatest Hits from 1971, and that's only because all the really great stuff was released as singles, and didn't feature on the albums. Post Peter Green they hit high spots in 1975 and 1977, with the eponymous album and Rumours. Both of those a great from start to finish. I love the self titled / Rumours & Tusk albums but don't know the earlier albums at all... Could anyone recommend a couple to start with? This is the only one I'd recommend I think part of the problem with the PG Fleetwood Mac era was that Greenie was so magnanimous in giving his fellow band members opportunities to do their thing. Let's face it, the world only needs one Jeremy Spencer song!

Love Jeff playing No one else sounds like him. He phrases so well Henrix changed rock!! Fletwood Mac good in places and the same for Eric Clapton Never really liked Mick or Ringo as drummers but I am quite fussy!

OK, fair enough. Right then, do you like Led Zeppelin and/or Rod Stewart?

In that case, take a shot at the first two Jeff Beck Group albums with Rod singing on them. If you know Led Zep 1 and think it was unique, you may be surprised!
First & second albums, in that order:

Interesting, Chris and Chris. I shall take a look, maybe I have been a tad quick to right off Jeff Beck, but my experiences thus far have not been great.
