So far Carrie Underwood sounds pretty good. Bearing in mind I'm not a big fan of female vocal or Country and Western that says something.
Johnny Marr started off ok but I lost interest May be ok for further investigation

It's the first year in ages I haven't watched any of it. I don't even know why. Old age maybe?

I'd like to like the whole Glasto / festival thing, but I'm not keen on the SQ - I get that being there is better then at home, being subjected to 100+ dB switches on the pleasure sensors in your brain regardless due to sheer volume.. sat at home I find it rather hard on the ears! Not watched any.. More importantly it conflicts with the all important (to me), grass court tennis season! All TV time goes to that..

It's the first year in ages I haven't watched any of it. I don't even know why. Old age maybe? It's hard work going through those that are boring. Pays dividends for me though, discovering new to me bands Faithless a few years back. Many years after they had been famous

SQ is surprisingly poor for the Beeb My problem is fitting it in while the boss isn't around. Really tees her off me whizzing through the also rans. Plus she likes almost none of them

Mavis Staples is good ! So is her band Can anyone confirm the band members ? Love the guitar and bass Best guess is Rick Holmstrom for guitar. Excellent
Vote for Mavis !
Kurt Vile and the Violators I like
Janet Jackson (!) good music, much like brother Michael. Dancing not my cup of tea, but won't know about it on a CD

Jon Hopkins - full set on iPlayer Looked forward to it having seen and heard him live on YouTube
Not great. Sound quality lacking, maybe the performance. Disappointed. Have the same tracks on albums and they are much better
So far as discovering new to me artists I wonder if I will.....

So far as discovering new to me artists I wonder if I will..... Kamasi Washington. There's a 45 minute set hidden on iPlayer.
The only thing is SWMBO will probably hate it.

Fairly sure I saw him/her/them Sounded out of tune if I remember right His Dad (Rickey Washington) was struggling with his tuning on flute. Thankfully Rickey played soprano sax for most of it.
