The output is 18W into 4ohm:Yes, at 10% distortion and with the wind gusting strongly in the right direction! He measured it as 5wpc both channels into 8 ohms before any noticeable distortion of the waveform. It's a decent little chip amp for pretty much zero expenditure. And it looks cute. And it has usable tone controls (I zip up the treble a bit as the speakers are a bit tucked away ) and a balance control that is useful in my skewed system. Yes, it's difficult to see how it can be criticised unless it proves unreliable.

Sorry. Lost the video on my mobile before I got to that part.

He said the current limit should really preclude use with 4 ohm speakers, although careful use while watching the temperature should be ok. Similarly, 12V gives you an upper limit to power with 8 ohm speakers, although again he wondered whether it's in bridged configuration.
I do know that T-Amps have their limits, too. It's all about using them within their design envelope, never mind what the specs say.

Jerry, looking at this advert for it (under 8 quid here!!!) it looks like it has 2 inputs - a 3.5mm jack socket and a pair of phonos. I don't see a switch though. Is there one, or can you just hear everything that's playing?

Not tried it, Chris, but I think you hear everything. So just one source playing at a time is probably best. The link you gave is for the amp to come from Hong Kong. Impatient booger that I am I opted for a rip-off UK supplier.

yeah - a bit worrying to start with. Rather thin and stark sounding - but recent experience with a class A amp learned me that they need a warm up time. This'un is class A for the first few 10s of watts. About 45 minutes in now and it is sounding stunning. Imposing looking beast. New pre-amp arriving in a few days which I hope will work nicely with it.

Those 'handles' are the wrong way around.

Macho heatsinks is probably the best way to regard them.

Yoiks! That's a bit different to the amp you showed us last week.

I'm surprised a Pass X150 was sold at any kind of 'bargain' price, Jerry.

So what I'd like to know is how the Bel / Pass combo compares to the Black Tulip set up! Any conclusions yet??

A valve preamp arrived this morning. Initial thoughts on the sonics are extremely positive! But it isn't exactly a visual match made in heaven with my Pass power amp.

That's a serious pre-amp Jerry!
I'd expect it to sound superb. Guy at Puresound is a very helpful chap if you need any help with it ...
