It occurs to me that there is an easily accessible NAS storage volume available for the BT Home Hub: the USB socket in the back (some other routers have them, too). I use it for software and drivers I need to install in the family computers around the house. It's always available and doesn't depend on a machine being turned on.
Question is: can it be used for central music storage and playback from Volumio? I'll give it a try tonight, as it would be more convenient for putting music on to try out than plugging a USB stick into the Pi that generally needs a restart.
Note: I am not a file-based collector, this is just for ease of use.

That's how I use mine, Martin - straight into the BT hub. The Pi is mainly for Spotify, but I have a load of albums on the drive that I sometimes use with the Pi in the bedroom system.

Good to know, Chris. Now I know it works, I shall set to it!
