Is Black Ravioli strong enough? How many would you need to spread the load?

Next? For my system? While there are still guitars that need buying and modding?

I'm only going to set myself two goals for this year. The first is to finish my DDDAC, REALLY looking forward to this, its been in pieces for too long now. The second is to build another pair of OB speakers. I currently use the Lampizator P17 DIY OB speakers and I plan to build the Lampizator P24's I have most of the drivers and the woofers on on their way to me from Russia as we speak. When the DDDAC is complete this will be my next project.

There is the larger Townshend stand that I think that would work well with the Ushers I wonder if you brought your Lidl stands here and we try them under my TADs then swap back to Townshend..... Max T has a very convincing way of showing the efficacy of his speaker platforms. He showed me a pair of speakers - one on spikes and one on a platform. Each had a tablet sitting on top with a vibration sensor app running. He jumped up and down on the concrete floor beside the one on the platform. The reading on the spiked one went crazy while the one on the platform just about registered a shock. Now, I'm sure that sort of demo could be rigged if you wanted to do so, but I don't think that was the case.

Funny how this develops as people like Max research and find things to improve sound quality.
Makes me wonder if there is something we will change this year due to some other discovery, as yet unkown

I'm wondering whether I could find even more energy absorbing feet than the Lidl ones while still being able to get them under each speaker and taking the weight. Robust as the Lidl washing machine feet appear, the three of them are pretty stressed under the 160kg weight of the speakers. Anything less strong would be totally crushed.
I'm thinking of ones for sensitive scientific instruments that could take, say, 80kg per foot. I'll have a look at some out-of-the-box ideas.
EDIT: I still have the SVS feet...

I wouldn't mind trying some different speakers , they would be near enough keepers , so I don't want to get it wrong. At present I have some Acoustic Energy 305 floor-standers in Piano Black , they look great and sound pretty good but I know I can get better . Also an integrated amp with a very good MC stage would be nice so I can reduce the box count.

I doubt the Townsend could take the weight, and the ones I've seen at Mike's are simply not large enough to accommodate the Usher's plinth. It would also take about four men to get a speaker onto one. No way! The thing is, I can't imagine whether the Black Ravioli would work well or otherwise. They are a lot less supple than the feet I'm using and I don't know if that would be a good thing or not. It would just have to be tried. not tried townsend platforms yet - currently using symposium platforms at present platform+ball brearings - fixed in vertical plane , but they move about in horizontal plane weight no problem max load 5000lbs & fit under my BE10s & another set under my 7foot Stats Max told me the townsend speaker platforms where a accident his italian importer used them under his speakers

Ive a few things in the pipeline, improvements are a possibility from them. Firstly, do some work on the kt77 se amp I built a few years ago. It really needs a complete rebuild, its been buggered about with so much that internally it's a bit of a state. That's the nice thing about the fact that I designed and built it, I know what each individual part is for and can rebuild it easily. It will be time consuming though and time is the bit that is lacking. Secondly I'm going to rebuild the nuvistor phono stage i designed and built about 5 years ago. At the moment there is no shielding whatsoever from the case it is in, and it needs doing. Nothing wrong with the sound, it will be alot quieter in a new aluminium case. It will look a sight better and be alot safer too.
Also have a pass f5 coming soon to replace the pro amp I'm using as a stand in for the kt77 amp. Ought to be abit less uncouth than the pro amp which is rather pokey and quite fun to thrash, but abit grained. It has a charm of its own though!
Put the crossovers for the speakers in boxes rather than having them connected up via clip leads
Build myself a new passive pre that has some more inputs
Restore some of the collection of turntables I have, ten at last count.
Quite a list, the downside to building stuff for other folks is that my own stuff tends to get neglected somewhat..... Cheers ant
