Do you have any changes planned for your system/s for the coming year?
Due to an expected escalation of funds being pumped into our house, I can't see much happening with my gear for the foreseeable future but I'd love to hear what other people are hoping to achieve.

I will likely sell my Naim CDX2 and purchase an Naim XPS2 to go with the NDX streamer which takes things up quite a large margin, and without much of significant outlay.
Other than that, I don't envisage a lot of change to the system next year.

I've got a pair of interconnects on the way to try out. Other than that I have no plans or intentions or even unnattainable dreams. Perfection has been attained! Yay. Well, no. They may not be perfect, and I am sure they wouldn't be everyone's choice - but I now have electronics and speakers and cables that suit me, personally, just fine and that I am completely comfortable with. To my humble ears it is entirely musically satisfying. Maybe it's an age thing, but my hifi wanderlust has reduced to an unheard of minimum. I dare say I'll start tinkering in a few months maybe. But I have no idea at all what with!

Do you have any changes planned for your system/s for the coming year? This is so funny & just shows its an illness you guys have no intentions getting a cure for.

That's just so wrong Andre. And quite funny really. My system has remained fundamentally the same since 2005 - same preamp, power amps, speakers, CD player, turntable, arm, and cartridge. I've added a few things to it but it's essentially exactly the same.
Now then. How many times has your system changed in the last 11 years?

My system changes for aesthetic reasons not sound reason, Pretty much all my stuff sounds the same in any combination. But it's like a small wardrobe of clothes if you know what i mean..
Im certainly not searching for what is not there.

No plans here, having just had the biggest upgrade ever (my room). I'm settling into buying more music this year to fill in the holes in my collection.

Will be auditioning some Black Ravioli pads
Can't see much else happening unless there is a chance of hearing more of what I already have...

Perhaps we should all just join a knitting forum.

Further to this, because it is an interesting subject: I would really struggle to know what I could upgrade without upsetting the balance of the system. Everything works synergistically and suits a) the other components; b) the room and c) my musical tastes. I dare say I could extract a good few percent more performance from rack/platform/supports if I knew where it would best come from and didn't upset any existing setup.
One possible move could be to replace the Lidl washing machine feet under the speakers with Black Ravioli, but would three of them take the 160kg weight of a speaker? Five? Would they outperform what I'm using now? I don't know, but at least I can try them out with a little manoeuvring and patience and can put things back if they're not an improvement.

I imagine they work well Also the Townsend speaker stand is pretty impressive No idea if it support the weight of your speakers

I doubt the Townsend could take the weight, and the ones I've seen at Mike's are simply not large enough to accommodate the Usher's plinth. It would also take about four men to get a speaker onto one. No way!
The thing is, I can't imagine whether the Black Ravioli would work well or otherwise. They are a lot less supple than the feet I'm using and I don't know if that would be a good thing or not. It would just have to be tried.

The BR did not work with my Open baffles when I tried them. Made things worse but that a very different approach worth a loan to find out

There is the larger Townshend stand that I think that would work well with the Ushers
I wonder if you brought your Lidl stands here and we try them under my TADs then swap back to Townshend.....

You wanna see the mains cable I've just upgraded my Golden Yarn knitting machine with Did it look like this? Interstingly, that is exactly how my DIY speaker cable looks albeit it is six cables of CAT5 platted three ways as in your pic.
