I have been working on some mods to upgrade the performance of the Capella. I ended up writing off a couple before I finally started to get some excellent results. The only complete fully working example is now unfortunately being held captive by a well known forum member. Based on his extended listening results I am ordering enough of the required parts to mod around 15 pieces of the Capella.
But note that the mod requires the use of a 15V power supply. Sound output level from headphone is also increased, as well as the driving of 600 Ohms headphones and difficult cans like the LCD3.
If anyone is interested in getting the mod done, please email me if possible. I can then put you on a waiting list. Once all the parts have arrived I can then schedule things. Most of the parts are coming from abroad, so please note that it won't be an overnight call out situation. Anyone requiring more info, just ask or email me.
