This is an odd one
Swapped my Mana rack over yesterday, see elsewhere....
Technics back into play, no change
Play Er, not good. Hmm. Setup is identical. I even remembered the crucial earth lead between VIDA Phono Pre and Pass Pre.
The sound has whole segments, mostly midrange missing. This is not how my system sounds - except now. This is grim as I'm also having separate CD problems
I changed nothing, ooh well except I'm going into RCA connection 3 on the Pass not 4 - nah, surely not. Nothing else is different so I'll go back to 3. While doing this I get mild electricals off the phono sockets on the Pass - not earthed right ? Any way swap over to 3 Blow me down It all comes back
Now why on earth does it make any difference ? This is nuts

The inputs are the same. If you were getting jolts, there's something seriously amiss with your earthing.

Maybe. Maybe not. I remember getting bolts off the pip once, and Owen advised me to stop wearing my nylons round the house - or at least while playing with the HiFi. More likely to be static shorting to a good earth through the amp

A tingle rather than a jolt
As the VIDA earth was connected to the Pass earth could that be doing it ?
I shall investigate carefully

My - limited -understanding is static is a temporal/transitory charge - caused by friction between a insulator and conductor and it can not be stored . Where you doing the soft shoe shuffle ?

A tingle is a sign of the body (you) creating a path to earth. It means that you need to investigate your earthing and would explain the dodgy sound. Bad earthing doesn't always result in hum.

The Isis now works ok so I will have a play around when I have some clear time to twiddle and think and twiddle etc
That could be Sunday with the TdF taking precedence over a lot
