I should add Johnny A as he is a great guitarist but relatively unknown.

Laurence Juber has been around for ages, but he's only just come up on my radar.

Mike Keneally has been around forever too - I first became aware of him through Frank Zappa, and I had the pleasure of seeing him with another Zappa alumni, Steve Vai. Mike is the one on the green Strat.
Here's another with The Aristocrats - you just might recognise another lesser known guitar great in Guthrie Govan (he's been working a lot with Steven Wilson over the last few years).

Laurence Juber has been around for ages, but he's only just come up on my radar. Terrific guitarist, he's appeared on a few Al Stewart albums and has backed him live. Talking of Al Stewart...Tim Renwick was always one of my favourite guitarists and he was on all of Al's early albums. He was also lead guitarist for The Sutherland Brothers and Quiver, and backed Pink Floyd on tour and at Live 8. I'll shut up in a minute, but I keep remembering people. Adrain Legg - Smashing bloke. Had a great phone conversation with him about guitar strings. Gordon Giltrap - Another nice guy. Met him at a folk club where the host tried to embarrass me by telling Giltrap I'd played one of his songs the week before. Giltrap just asked me what key it was in as he said he couldn't remember. I have 2 things in common with Gordon these days. Our hair is now the same colour and I own one of his Signature guitars; it did not come equipped with his talent as I'd hoped though.

I believe you may be thinking of Ray Fenwick?

I believe you may be thinking of Ray Fenwick? You is correct. My mistake. Much consumption of premium lager has frazzled my poor brain.

We saw him in Andover and he was chatty and convivial with the audience. Really nice low-key gig and he was happy to talk afterwards. He was jokingly pushing his Signature guitar during the gig - seemed perfectly justified!

I'm a big fan of Journey and Neal Schon - not a showy guitarist at all but as that track shows, very melodic and nice tone ...
