Orianthi Panagaris (look her up on YouTube) She looks great and plays fantastically well. She needs to hone her musicality rather than go for just pyrotechnics, though.

Is it such a sin to admire the looks of a highly skilled guitar player? PC gone bonkers.

It's a pity you chose that video Jerry, coz it's nothing but plank wanking, and shows Melvin in a very bad light. This video on the other hand shows off what a tasteful player he can be when he's not showing off.

Yes, that vid is over the top! ... I hadn't seen it before today when looking for some material on him. A guitarist friend of mine I played the CD to reckoned he was a show off. Shows remarkable skill, though.

Back in the day (1983), as a metal obsessed teenager, this solo by Akira Takasaki absolutely blew my mind - I have the lp ... Wankery par excellence! He's still doing the solo today ...

I agree about it being wankery. We'll have to agree to disagree about the par excellence bit though ...... Now if he has been playing the solo since then he'll have managed to get up to the standard of Steve Vai in this clip
