So, conversely, songs which do well at the Brits (often shite) may not make it to the Ivor Novellos.
Seems fair enough to me.

It's all simple really, the Novello awards are for outstanding songwriters and Adele isn't. Selling millions of albums is not a qualification

Not really that harsh Mike, although Adele isn't my style of artist, I do still recognise she has talent and is hugely popular. But I think even she would agree that she isn't a world class singer/songwriter. A great singer yes, but song writing is a totally different skill.
There are many outstanding artists out there, be that singers or purely musicians, but there are far fewer outstanding songwriters and even fewer exceptional singer/songwriters.

She seems a nice enough girl but I find her very ordinary.
Is the world changing just a tiny bit to recognise talent ?
