I could have a working office in our loft conversion where it gets stunningly hot in the Summer. Guessing well over 30'C
I would have a system there for sure as I expect to be there for long periods.
There are Velux windows and I will use a fan to keep me cool but what about the kit long term ?
The main concern would be speakers, probably Isobariks How will they get on in such high temperatures ?
Assume the CD player, DAC and Amp will be happy enough.
Might the PC have problems ?
Anything else ?

You'll probably make some nice new plastic plant pots for your summer plants if you store vinyl at 30oC !!!!

Try asking the South African members on the other forum you are a member of. They know all about hot and HiFi
Returned after the long logout due to the unfair scheme decision. Back maybe

Is 30 really that hot? I'm sure it will be fine.

Is 30 really that hot? I'm sure it will be fine. I'm just shy of that now (27 today), gets to over 40 in the summer. All my mates kit is fine but no LPs out here, just CDs

Sitting in my office at 27/28'c is just ok if I have the fan on At 30'c I melt Above that I leave Don't want to have my speakers coming apart. No way are my LPs going up there. Assume CDs will be ok
Maybe all will be ok short term. How about long term with the difference between the top end heat and the low end perhaps stressing the material ?

Tbh, I think the damper cold weather is more likely to be your problem than 30 degrees Mike

Is 30 really that hot? I'm sure it will be fine. I agree. I've ran kit in Cyprus before. It's common for indoor temperatures to hit 40degres or more when you're not there to open windows or run air con. I know a few others who have decent systems and I haven't heard of any problems. Vinyl records will be another matter. I'm still pondering that one.

Living in Central Africa as a kid in the 1970s we only had air-conditioning in the bedrooms. The hi-fi and records were all fine. I still have some of the records.

That's great to hear, come to think of it, plenty of DJs in Ibiza and other hot locations too. Their records must survive ok.

The main problem, if there is one, would probably be the constant temperature changes rather than just the heat itself as you yourself mention.

Never mind the equipment, I couldn't enjoy listening in a 30C room.
As for damage, a PC will generally not like it and the fan(s) will run fast and noisy.

If it becomes my home office I will do work on making it a lot better to work in. The Velux windows will help to lose some heat Currently it is a bedroom that is hardly used If I'm in there a lot then I will also stabilise the temperature making it warmer in the winter
So looks like it is worth a punt at least
It vaguely resembles SpeedySteve's room. The acoustics will be interesting being plasterboard all over and wooden floor

My listening room is in the roof space of my house here in the South of France. Temperatures reach the high twenties at the height of summer and there has never been any issue with kit or vinyl. There is an air onditioning unit fitted for when it starts to get hotter, but iwhen building it look at fitting decent insulation.

This is all built. Roof tiles, insulation at 2009 regs, plasterboard.
I think the high temp is down to the height in the building.
Will report back in July

You should be fine. It hits high thirties here and my insulation isn't up to modern standards. The building construction is different here though.

Just thought my original Isos were with me in hot offices before and they have lived. I think upstairs will go a few degrees over but with some good airflow maybe I can get around it
