Where's your Isis? Takes me a while to get up steam for camera work plus remembering what I need to know to post it !

Step too far for me with this kit. Not at all keen on opening it up.

From reading several of your posts I have formed the impression that you are adverse to anything DIY. Post a pic of your CD player and I and no doubt others could advise you on panel damping. Seriously, this is a no brainer tweak, doesn't cost a lot and is probably better that adding external unsightly lumps of stone. Actually, I'm a bit gob-smacked that audiophile members here have not recognised this option, or maybe they have and have rejected it? If that is the case, I will be even further gob-smacked! This is a very good, cheap and satisfactory method of chassis dampening. With no disrespect intended, using slabs of stone externally is rather Neanderthal in my view, but what others do is obviously personally optional.
All of course IMHO.
I recognise I have rather deflected from the purpose of this thread. Mods, by all means transfer my posts and set up a new thread relating to 'Component Chassis Dampening'.
Thanks.

I can confirm that it is easy to apply and can be had for a lot less than in the link. It does a good job but I use both methods separately and together, depending on the situation. Cheap source of Dedsheet here, not to mention all sorts of other very useful stuff.

I find 'slabs of stone' work very well and don't look unsightly. Perhaps you were looking at my photo where I hadn't trimmed the felt very well. Mostly it looks fine. More to the point, it works very well indeed.

The Rega Isis is made very well - All but hewn from solid and not out of thin bent sheets! One reason it costs as much as it does.

I'd be very reluctant to open up my boxes and stick sound deadening inside - the casework often forms part of the cooling system and seems to me that sticking things to it might cause overheating or even worse if it came loose inside.
As for weights on top, despite trying many alternatives I've yet to find that it make any difference to my own hifi.

When I have more time I may consider taking boxes apart. The Isis would be the last if at all as Dave says it is very heavy. 27 kilos I think
