I just heard and put a notice in the Obituary. What a loss to the rock music world. So many great songs that remain timeless.

My thoughts are identical to yours Tim. Ziggy was the album that made me sit up wide eyed and see music for the rich treasure that it is. We will never see the like of him again.

I think I probably saw the last time he performed live when he came on towards the end of Gilmour's On an Island shows at the Albert Hall. He sung Arnold Layne (released as a single with DG) and Comfortably Numb. I really can't believe it, music just lost an irreplaceable treasure.

I see Blackstar on CD is out of stock on Amazon, predictable. Glad I got the limited vinyl when I did, that's out of stock too. I'm still totally shocked, a piece of my life has just gone today.

Just read a review on Amazon where someone described him as the Picasso of music - I like that.

Such a great loss - not just a fabulous singer, songsmith and artist but one of those few people who helped redefine masculinity in the 20th century..
He created the soundtrack to my life

Very sad indeed. I have just watched the promo for 'Blackstar' - a staggeringly beautiful song with a mesmerizing video ... It's a shame I have only discovered this today.

Three score years and 10 is a good innings, and he achieved an awful lot in that time. Surprised he wasn't knighted to be honest, especially given who they give gongs to nowadays.

Sad news. To me, he will always be the Goblin King: Love that song - in fact it might have been my first introduction to him when I was a boy!

Surprised he wasn't knighted to be honest, especially given who they give gongs to nowadays. He was offered a couple of honours apparently - and turned them down
