Doesn't appeal much to me, but the Boss signed up for it as she sees money differently to me
Some music is FREE on Prime
MP3 ?

I don't think you get to keep anythin Mike. If you have Spotify, then there's probably little benefit in signing up for prime just for that.

I compared Amazon Prime with Spotify Premium and thought that Spotify sounded much better in my system .

Listening to muffled process third abortive attempt (mp3) is a waste of ones life force.

Ah thanks guys
You can't take it onto your PC then - and maybe onto a CD after ?
Useful for me to sign in as the other half and sample longer chunks if nothing else

I am a happy user of Amazon Music, and I already had Prime so it's no extra cost to me. I'm not sure where some of the above are getting their info from but I've tried out many of the other streaming services and found the sound quality of Amazon Music to be as good as most, better than some, provided you take into account that Amazon music is I believe 320 kbps MP3 and not what I consider to be 'proper' high res.
Amazon doesn't have a huge range but there are some surprises - e.g. David Gilmour 'rattle that lock' and a lot of old stuff all for free.
And although I've not yet tried, songs CAN be downloaded for later listening - quote:
"No Internet connection? No problem Download songs from the Prime Music catalog to your mobile devices for offline playback on a plane, train or anywhere without an Internet connection."

Aha. Thanks Chris
Most important for me would be extended sampling to see if I buy a CD or not

Yes both are good resources to take away some of the risk of buying a album

Spotify Premium in hi-bitrate mode, fed into a decent DAC like my Caiman-II, is more than listenable, especially for album sampling as above.

Whilst I agree I still find it hard for serious listening but great to get a sense of a album

I still find many albums I want to sample not on Spotify.
Amazon Prime will be even less available I'm sure
More and more complete albums on YouTube

I'm being pushed by the other half to get a connection to the TV from here Ipad or similar to watch Amazon Prim films
At a guess that needs a new TV as I assume SCART or component won't cut it
Is this something like HDMI cor connection ?

Has the TV got a USB or HDMI input Mike? If so, then this is probably the thing for you. A bit cheaper than a new telly! www.amazon.co.uk/Amazon-W87CUN-Fire-TV-Stick/dp/B00KAKUN3ESorry, I might be barking up entirely the wrong tree (I try not to think too hard about TVs!), but I'd have thought this route might warrant some investigation.

You can get those fire sticks "tweaked" so that they're fully loaded and you only pay a one off.
Just sayin

I'm an Amazon Prime customer, by accident not design. I somehow managed to sign up about a year ago whilst choosing postage options on a purchase. Anyhow, I actually quite like the TV service and speedy delivery, but when I looked at the streaming it didn't have nowhere near the choice that Spotify has. One good thing it does do; if you purchase a vinyl through Amazon Prime, you automatically also get the download immediately. The Amazon Fire is great as well! Just wish they'd pay some tax.
