Yanis varoufakis recently discussing Greece's financial crisis described the euro as "Hotel California" and everyone recognised the line and knew what he meant. Are there any other examples of a key phrase in a song that is instantly recognisable and can be used to describe a situation I wonder?

I love finding meaning in lyrics sometimes they personal ans sometimes they seem to sum up a situation or event well.

Van Morrison's lines "You'll be my queen, I'll be your king, And I'll be your lover, too" are etched in my mind for very personal reasons. Not sure how well known they are, but the song was used in the end titles of the film 'Proof of Life'.
So many of his songs have been used in so many films.

just in case anybody is unaware of the euro and Greek fiasco, it was a reference to a possible "Grexit" - and the fact that nobody ever actually considered how anybody could leave the euro once they had joined "You can check out any time you like - but you can never leave..." Not bad for an official comment from a finance minister!

I have heard the Hotel California line made in reference to hifi forums and it does seam to be true in many cases! There is a group of Swedish scientists who have a bet going over who can write the most articles with Dylan quotes in the title before they retire. See here
