I have a PC that I plan to play around with a bit It has the surround sound digital outputs so I tried using the green digital output (I have a special adapted lead to connect to the DAC) But I am not getting it to output to the DAC I am probably doing something stupid I tried the usual sound in the playback section The pc is recognising I am putting cable into it Any ideas If not I get someone to replace the soundcard as would like to find a way to access MQn without using USB as think MQn will overtake my Transport in the near future The machine just a cheap ASUS K30ad 1b (SCS)

Have you gone into Sound in the Control Panel, John, and told it to output digital rather than analogue?
Control Panel | Sound | Playback and make sure the digital output is the default with a green tick? Also set volume to 100% so that you control things from the DAC/preamp.

Hi John, I'm not familiar with MQn, but I've had a similar issue before with onboard digital outputs. Using JRiver, I fixed it by changing the default channel offset in the output settings (this changes which output is used on the selected device).
