Yes I enjoyed it, too. Starts off with high accuracy and very impressively, but towards the end it goes pretty far fetched.

This thread is fantastic but more films needed as I'm nearly through all the recommended ones...

I've just added quite a few of the films in this thread to my Lovefilm rental list, so I hope they're good :-)

2 crackers I've enjoyed are Wag the Dog - an all star cast and the story of a spin doctor trying to save the US president from impending disaster. Remarkable movie. Also worth a watch is Dead Mans Shoes. Not remarkable but a bloody good revenge movie. Both well worth a watch.

Watched this last night . . . outstanding and I'll be watching it again very soon. Highly recommended, even if you didn't/don't like his music.

Mmmm, I'll think about it, Tim, but I really don't like his music or reggae very much. If I hear just one "I and I" I'll likely stop it immediately.

Take a holiday to the Caribbean Martin and you'll become a Marley fan and every time you play him, you're right back there Exodus is an outstanding album.

Loved St Lucia, disliked Barbados.
Doubt I'll ever become a Marley fan!

Just watched Penguins of Madagascar. It had fart jokes in it so I loved it!

Watched If.... for the first time since 1968 last night
It's a different film now for various reasons
Worth a watch for a look back in time and a peek into what some of the aspects of public school was like

I think 'If' is an awesome film and a 'must see' ...
Reminds me of many of the more unsavoury aspects of prep school.
Beautifully made and another startling performance from Malcolm McDowell.

Watched this last night . . . outstanding and I'll be watching it again very soon. Highly recommended, even if you didn't/don't like his music. Likewise, I can highly recommend 'Finding Fela,' which is a compelling documentary about the music and turbulent life of Fela Kuti. I went to the premiere as a good friend of mine had done some of the camerawork on it, but I hadn't expected to enjoy it as much as I did, especially the music which is a great fusion of Western and African styles. Here's a review and trailer ... www.theguardian.com/film/2014/jul/30/finding-fela-kuti-review-afrobeat-life-music

A firm recommendation if you like stuff that is just so bad it terrific!!
Thunderbirds are Go...(1968 film)
Couldn't resist downloading it from YouTube. The actors are wooden as hell and seem to be dummies. The special effects are like something from kid's TV. Loved it.

The original Thunderbirds films are FAB! Just don't mention that horror directed by Jonathan Frakes.

Watched, and thoroughly enjoyed, Spike Jonze’s 2013 movie ‘Her’. A fascinating film about a man who falls in love with his operating system. Bizarre concept, I know, but it really is an interesting and touching movie. Joaquin Phoenix is fantastic. More information here.

I also watched Her recently following the recommendation earlier in the thread and thought it was excellent. Couldn't get past the first 25 minutes of Gravity however, what a pile of tosh that was.
