Haha, I hear you Martin, I often seem to have different opinions to others these days, or maybe it's because I'm too old and too ugly to not say anything if I disagree? I'm certainly rather opinionated.
Or maybe its a mix of both.
I must try Cloud Atlas again, I turned it off after half an hour or so and have never had another go. I think I've mentioned before, I'm not mad about Tom Hanks, he was however very good in Captain Phillips and Sully.
Those deserve a mention actually, if folks have never seen them, both come recommended.

Now that, I'm afraid, was an utterly crap film in my book. Horses for courses... You have no soul . . . packed house in the biggest screen at Cineworld Cardiff, seems the Welsh like crap movies. Classic !

I liked Prometheus. How could you not, with Noomi Rapace in it? Well, it's like this...once you reach a certain age you require more from a film than just a half-decent plot and a rather tasty young lady with thighs that could crack walnuts. She was a superb Lisbeth Salander though. Save

Awesome and I don't really like that word as it's too 'everyday', but awesome it certainly is. Not saying anything about the content as not to spoil. Right to the top of my film of the year list, but a big screen and Dolby Atmos sound makes a HUGE difference, so if you have a choice of screens, pick the best. Went straight into a 3D screening afterwards, which was good in 3D, but the screen was much smaller and the sound a meagre Dolby Digital CP750. That doesn't compare to literally having your socks blown off by Atmos. Huge 400+ seater screen with 6 other people in too, one of the benefits of going at 12:30 as it'll be packed tonight for sure. Just having steak and chips with a pint, before watching a pre-screening of The Death of Stalin . . . its movie day today I don't really think it's much of a Ridley Scott film IMHO, that's pretty much all Denis Villeneuve, Ridley has his stamp on it for sure, but the greatness baton has been taken by Villeneuve It's also tops the original for me, but you can't really compare the two side by side as filmaking technology has advanced so much. Imagine what the original would have been like if it were made today? If Villeneuve does do DUNE, then that is definitely something to watch out for. So, BR2049 is most definitely a remarkable film in my book.

Glad you enjoyed it too, Tim.
I see that Cloud Atlas came out in 2012, so I can honestly say BR2049 is the best film I've see in at least five years.

I highly recommend BR2049 in IMAX 3D. I don't like 3D, but it was really well done.

I'm the same David, most films don't work in 3D, this definitely does. I plan to see it at least another two times, maybe more I might even give 4DX ago, but I'm not a fan of that. I'm not sure how it'll do in the Oscar nominations, but it'll bag something for sure.

I have all three original Dragons with Noomi Rapace and agree, they're superb. I play them with subtitles, though, don't like dubbed soundtracks.

No other way to watch those films IMO, dubbed just doesn't work for me. I don't mind subtitled films and the best films don't all come out of Hollywood. Just out of seeing BR2049 on the Superscreen again before they take it off for Lego ninjas! It's just an awesome film and even better for the third time
