Well, we are quite enjoying The bridge. Enough to keep watching it anyway. I have a feeling it will get better too...
Beck is ok'ish - watch it cos' it's Swedish.

I've just ordered The Following series 3 on DVD and Grimm series 4 on Blu Ray. I also picked up Top Of The Lake for a few pounds so I'm hoping it's as good as people say.

I liked Timothy Olyphant from his time in Deadwood. Now that was a good series, too! Good call Martin, I'd never heard of it. Just finished series one. Equally as good as Justified in it's own way. My personal dictionary for cussing has expanded somewhat! Also enjoyed (to my surprise, wife got hold of the remote when I wasn't paying attention!) Doctor Foster. Missed the first episode though as iPlayer had already dropped it even before the 4th episode of 5.

The Following is on my wish list but I'll have a shot at TOTL, keep passing it over as I hadn't heard it recommended before. Cheers.

Did anyone see the first episode of "River" on BBC1 this week and in your opinion is it worth catching up with on iPlayer?

You can tell it is the darker evenings as there are so many new series starting…
Homeland - Didn't enjoy the last series as much as the previous ones but this one looks good so far… although to be honest there has only been one Grand Designs - Love this series, would love to be able to build my own project and some of them are rather extreme (but in a good way lol) Suits - Although think the last episode may have been this week - have enjoyed this since the first series, very good. The Apprentice - big fan of this show, not sure why really, maybe to watch the arrogant wannabe's get destroyed by Alan Sugar!

The Apprentice. Jesus these competitors are fucking thick. If that's the future of "business" God help us. Utter fucking dimwits.
Rant over.

One reason why I can't stand reality shows, Question Time or anything involving the dimwits who take part in these things.

The Apprentice reminds me of my time with Rank Xerox in the 70s.
The people they get in The Apprentice are much like the ones that got sacked at RX

Life, starring Damian Lewis and ReGenesis starring nobody I've heard of; I've just purchased series one of both for a couple of quid on Amazon. Anyone know anything about either?

Homeland season 5 is shaping up well. Suppose it was only a matter of time until Carrie had a price on her head, but surely Quinn won't do it...

I'll definitely be giving episode 2 of River a go. Stellan Skarsgård, Nicola Walker, Eddie Marsan et al are all excellent.
Top of the lake is an odd one. The best way I can describe it (and probably won't make sense to a lot of people) is that it's a bit like Twin Peaks but with all of the David Lynch weirdness sucked out of it. It's slow moving at times and I almost expected them to start speaking Scandiwegian at one atage. All of that said, we enjoyed it.
Started on series 4 of Grimm last night. We're still loving it.

The Leftovers. I just watched S2 Ep3 last night and, again, it floored me. Is there anything else like this on TV? Well yes, there was Lost, of course, Damon Lindelof's first foray into compelling weirdness. In this series, he has surpassed that with such a strong sense of foreboding and random occurrences that you simply cannot turn away. First class cast, superb cinematography and, best of all, refreshingly believable writing within the bizarre context.
The context is that one day at a moment in time 2% of the world's population disappears. No explanation, no return, nothing. The series is about those left behind and how they cope. Or don't.
