Well this'll be a popular thread.
No one on here will like mash ups. This lot can barely stand compilation albums/playlists!!

Hmm. After a look around it seems mashups like above are not easy to find Most of them are bits of tracks and bits of video
How do you find 'real' mashups - IE. 2 songs bunged together ?

Why do you want to? Real question. Mostly to amuse me - and others too of course I've seen them before and they have been funny This mix made me laugh. Hard cases mixed with ye olde Scottish music Some gel really well Peel once played Springsteen's Dancing in the Dark with another group playing on top of it, really great

Of course, Ye Olde I saw some good ones a while back and assumed they would become commonplace. Appears 'mashup' has taken on a different meaning and the results not that good for me

Have I joined a forum of old farts?? Toomanydjs (soul wax) were the ones who bought mashups to the fore Even if you aren't into it - I urge you to check out the imagination and mixing skills on their As heard on Radio Soul wax part 1 compilation and if it doesn't make you laugh and / or get you dancing then you have no soul! There's music from many genres on there - so they may ruin and old classic for you - or put a big fat smile on your face Also a start to a whole new world of mixing using software to keep the pitch accurate while changing the RPM - allowing to mix anything with anything - like The Clash vs Kylie minogue etc

Maybe going slightly off topic as these are more like proper albums but are rather bloody good The grey album by danger mouse (Jay z black album accapella over Beatles White album samples) Jaydiohead (Jay z acapella over ok computer instrumental) - shouldn't work but boy does it!!!! radiodread - by the easy all stars (ok computer in a reggae style) Dun side of the moon - easy all stars. Does what it says on the tin

My shit music of youth became wonderfully nostalgic. All it needed was time

My shit music stays shit, even if nostalgic shit. Still don't like it one bit
The puzzling thing I have found in the past year or so is the music "I don't like" has some good examples of "I like a lot" The quality of manufacture draws me in I love that Bruce track, duffed over, and the original is good too

I think we can all agree on one thing no matter our creed, age, music taste, colour........
This is shit, and will always be shit -
"my anaconda dont, my anaconda dont, my anoconda dont want none....unless you got buns hun!"
My fault for putting Radio 1 on in the car I suppose!
