Sold all my vinyl years ago with a view to going minimal and having everything on a laptop / ipod Never listened to music - just didn't ever feel like it, something missing Got back into vinyl and then hifi and now listen to music more than ever Maybe it's the tactile thing - and for sure it's the fact that I like music time to be music time. I just get annoyed if I am trying to do something else as it means I miss half the song! Would I watch a film whilst doing something else? Hells no I'll have the radio on in the car - but otherwise I like to focus on a smaller amount of great quality / well recorded music! Yeah its cost me a small fortune in vinyl - and it's meant so haven't bought much for a year or so since being skint after having a baby - but the plus side is I am listening to all my record collection again instead of always buying new stuff And loving it! So it's a no from me - but a yes from my teenage son who loves it and therefore I love it because it gives him a way to listen to loads of cool music and discover new bands My pennies worth

Great answer mate, lost his music then re found his love for music and hifi. You could creat a film about that one

I completely agree with this. However, I don't see the connection with not using Spotify? I use Spotify to listen to new music but I don't do it as background music (except at work).

Your right - the music time bit has little to do with Spotify in general, only the tactile part of picking up a record and putting it on Mind you I personally find that if it's an ipod or laptop playing I am just more likely to potter around!! Maybe that is down to the fact that vinyl I have to stay quite close to turn it over! And the fact I have invested time and effort into digging out an album and putting it on means I stick around and concentrate to get a return on my investment!!

If you ever felt like trying Spotify Premium out for an extended period at minimal cost, then now and for the nexxt few days is your chance! Get yerself a 3 month trial of the full fat 320 kbps with no adverts for £0.99p.
Don't deny it 'til you try it! There is some very good sounding music available on this service. Quality is a little variable, but when it's good, it's very good indeed. The opportunity to find new music for minimal cost is pretty much unrivalled.
However, if you find something that you really like, then give the artist their proper dues and buy a real copy, eh? That way, everyone wins!

Is there a way you can get this offer even if you are already subscribed to Premium? I could save £30 here!

That's how marketing works
Drag the punters in somehow, anyhow as some do Then make money

Adding to this discussion, the biggest impact on my listening in recent times has been perfecting my Raspberry Pi and streaming Spotify Premium at hi-bitrate through the system, controlling it from a tablet. It is a luxurious prospect having so much music at my fingertips and listening to artists that I still haven't bought, creating a shopping list as I go. The sound quality is more than it has any right to be, very often being up there with CD. I am very impressed.
Meanwhile, I continue to have 2-3 hours at work every morning where the office is mine and I can do the same thing with a much reduced, though still enjoyable, system.

Yes I totally get where you coming from that why I be going down the Raspberry Pi route so I can listen to Spotify and have access to that huge library. I do often purchase music I discovered on Spotify and would encourage other members to do the same.

Seems highly dodgy to me Chris. I think there are a few theories about how it's being done, but none of them are good!

I've read that some of them are just one month free trial accounts, so a bargain then! Others are linked to hacked accounts in other countries. Sooner or later the person with the hacked account works it out. Others are linked to phone accounts from a company in Sweden that include it as part of their package.
